In April 2024, new car sales in Germany were strong. The year-on-year increase was 19.8%, an increase of nearly one-fifth. Sales exceeded 240,000 units, reaching 243,102 units. Despite the positive performance, sales figures are still well below pre-pandemic levels. Sales reached 310,715 units in April 2019. That compares with more than a fifth of sales volumes last month, at 21.8%. On a year-on-year basis, sales also increased. Toyota was positive. The year-on-year growth rate was 42.4%, which was the largest growth among the top 10 brands. SEAT and Skoda also saw decent growth. This represents an increase of 41.6 per cent and 29.2 per cent, respectively.
