With the arrival of the "May Day" holiday, the flow and gathering of people, domestic travel, and outbound travel will increase significantly. Shenyang Center for Disease Control and Prevention would like to remind you that:

The large-scale movement of people during the May Day holiday may increase the risk of epidemic transmission, but it is unlikely to cause large-scale epidemic transmission. During this period, it is necessary to continue to pay attention to the prevention of new coronavirus infection, and at the same time to do a good job in the prevention of infectious diarrhea, mumps, scarlet fever, tick-borne diseases, etc.

1. Novel coronavirus infection

At present, the epidemic caused by the JN.1 variant of the new coronavirus has passed the peak and dropped to a low level, and the new crown epidemic in our city continues to maintain a low-level wave epidemic trend, but the new crown virus is still mutating, and the epidemic still has a certain degree of recurrence. The public can get vaccinated against the new coronavirus in a timely manner according to their own conditions and wear masks reasonably. If you have respiratory symptoms such as fever and cough when you return from travel, you should reduce contact with others, decide whether to seek medical attention according to the severity of your illness, and it is recommended to wear an N95 mask when seeking medical treatment.

2. Infectious diarrhea

During the "May Day" period, we should pay attention to hand hygiene, food and drinking water hygiene. When traveling and dining, you should choose a restaurant with formal and good hygienic conditions. Wash fruits and vegetables carefully and cook food properly, especially foods with a high risk of norovirus infection, such as shellfish and seafood, and cook them thoroughly. Raw and cooked food should be separated, and kitchen utensils and containers for processing food should be separated from raw and cooked. Leftovers and overnight foods should be thoroughly reheated before being eaten again. Maintain a good way of eating, try to divide meals, and advocate the use of chopsticks and spoons. Do not collect or eat unknown wild mushrooms and wild plants.

3. Mumps

Mumps is a vaccine-preventable disease, vaccination is the most effective way to prevent mumps, and two doses of mumps vaccination are recommended for routine vaccination. If you have not been vaccinated, you should also get mumps-containing vaccines to prevent it. In addition to this, it is important to practice good personal hygiene and living habits. Wash your hands before eating, after using the toilet and after touching dirty things, change, wash and dry clothes and bedding frequently, and wash your hands immediately after touching respiratory secretions (such as sneezing and blowing your nose), and avoid touching your mouth, eyes and nose with dirty hands. During the peak of the epidemic, people should avoid going to crowded places, seek medical attention in time if they have relevant symptoms, reduce contact with others, try to rest at home, open windows frequently for ventilation, and keep indoor air circulation and freshness.

Fourth, scarlet fever

The key to preventing scarlet fever lies in controlling the source of infection, and we should do the following in daily life: ventilate the living environment 2-3 times a day to strengthen air circulation; let children maintain a good habit of exercising every day, which will help improve physical function and enhance immunity; daily diet should be balanced and comprehensive, which will also help prevent diseases; pay attention to the state of children, so as to achieve early detection, early diagnosis, early treatment and isolation measures to prevent cross-infection.

5. Tick disease

Tick disease, a disease caused by exposure to ticks, is commonly referred to as tick disease because ticks can carry a variety of pathogens that can cause many different diseases. Ticks generally live in grass, bushes or wooded areas and animal body surfaces, so we should do a good job of personal protection when we are outdoors, tie our trouser legs tightly or tuck them into socks or shoes, do not wear sandals, do not dry clothes on grass and trees, and carefully check before entering the room to prevent ticks from being brought home through clothes and pets. Once a tick is found attached to the skin, the tick should be removed as soon as possible, and the tick can be sprayed with alcohol to relax or die on the tick's body, and then take out the tick with clean fine-pointed tweezers, do not pull hard, so as not to hurt the skin or leave the tick's head in the skin, after taking it out, then use iodine or alcohol for local disinfection, and observe the physical condition at any time;
