The report, produced by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), surveyed more than 150,000 professionals in 188 countries.
According to the survey, Australia is the most desirable immigration destination for expatriates in the world.
The top 10 countries are: Australia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Singapore, France and Spain.
This marks Australia's steady climb from seventh place in 2014 to the top of BCG's list for the first time.
Nicole Sibillio, managing director and partner at BCG, says Australia stands out for three reasons.
"The first is the quality of employment opportunities, which includes opportunities to improve one's skills, work in interesting jobs and job security," she said. ”
