The 3.5-meter-wide highway is narrow and steep in bends and steep slopes, and some sections of the road are also bordered by Bishan District, not to mention the need for cross-regional coordination of land problems due to road expansion, coupled with the low standard of the original road, the road expansion needs to occupy part of the forest land, and the construction process also needs to take into account the implementation of the project and ecological protection, so the Jiufeng Mountain bus has not been implemented for a long time. In 2021, in order to realize the dream of public transportation at the doorstep of more than 350 families on the mountain, after coordinating with Bishan District, Chongqing Public Transport Group, and traffic patrol police for many times, the road expansion project of opening mountains and filling ditches was started, and the two-way two-lane tourist highway was finally completed.

Dong Shuqun and his wife Shi Guocai are natives of Jiufeng Village, and have witnessed many great changes in the village from scratch and from existence to excellence over the years. "I've lived here for decades, the roads have widened, the buses have opened, and the good times have just begun. Dong Shuqun said.

The elderly couple suffer from chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, and need to see doctors regularly to get medicine. "Every 369 rush day we have to go to prescribe medicine, before there is no bus, we are walking to the village committee to take 293 road to the town to transfer, because the legs and feet are inconvenient and old, walking down is less than 1 hour, more than an hour and a half. When the car drove to a corner, Shi Guocai subconsciously grabbed his wife's hand and looked out the window, unable to adapt to this speed for a while.

More than 10 minutes later, the vehicle arrived at the Jiufeng Village Committee, and the old couple came to the starting point of Route 293 to wait for the arrival of the vehicle.

In recent years, Chongqing has proposed to build a "living circle on the bus", improve the micro-circulation bus network, and break the bottleneck of the "last mile" of public travel. In view of the back streets and alleys that cannot be reached by conventional buses, taking Jiufeng Village as an example, Science City has launched 3293 alley buses, which solves the travel needs of nearly 1,000 villagers and tourists on the mountain.

The opening of Route 3293 is just a microcosm of Science City's focus on dredging "micro-vessels" and the implementation of "conventional bus + dynamic bus + customized bus + alley bus" to solve residents' travel problems. The reporter learned that since the beginning of this year, Science City has completed 7 new and optimized bus lines, including 3 new lines and 1 optimized line in conventional buses, 2 new routes and 1 optimized route in customized buses. It is expected that 7 new and optimized bus lines will be added this year, mainly covering bus routes such as student assistance, medical treatment, and service industry development, so as to realize the good wishes of citizens to "go out and take the bus and transfer to the whole city".

Chongqing is a mountain city and a river city, due to the unique geographical conditions, the public travel is relatively dependent on public transportation, the demand is relatively large, but it is also limited by the characteristics of the terrain, the shortage of road resources, the lack of station facilities, the difficulty of line operation, and the blind spot of site coverage. Where did the alley bus come from?

In recent years, with the accelerated construction of Science City, the urban bus network has become more and more perfect, but the operation of rural public transport has always been a difficulty.

Jiufeng Yaochi Scenic Area is located in Jiufeng Mountain, Jinfeng Town, due to the road width, ramps, facilities along the line and other problems in the early stage, there is no condition for opening bus lines for the time being. In 2021, Science City launched the road expansion project, widening the road from the original 4~5 meters to 6~7 meters, and changing the one-way lane to a two-way "rainbow road".

"The road has widened and it is not far from the bus. "In 2022, seeing that the road acceptance is completed, the stone in the heart of Zhang Mingyue, secretary of the general party branch of Jiufeng Village, can be regarded as falling to the ground. However, the next reality gave him a "slap in the face", because this section of the road only allows 9 and less vehicles to pass, the existing 293 bus (Jinfeng to Jiufeng Mountain) cannot be extended to Jiufeng Yaochi.

How to get through the "last mile" of public transportation for residents in the mountains? The scene of the back streets and alleys in the central city has been replaced by the small roads of the rural roads. The length of the alley bus line is generally 3 to 5 kilometers, and the section from Jiufeng Village to Jiufeng Yaochi is exactly in line with this situation.

"In the early stage, we sorted out the number of villagers, travel needs and tourist travel characteristics, and organized traffic patrol police, public transport companies, towns and streets and other relevant units to conduct on-site surveys along the line for many times to form a preliminary route plan. According to the relevant person in charge of the Urban Construction Affairs Center of Chongqing High-tech Zone, due to the mountain road bends and road risks, and there are strict restrictions on vehicle models, after many coordinations, the 4.5-meter-long, 7-seat alley bus type was finally introduced.

It is understood that this is the first attempt to introduce alley buses to solve the problem of mountain travel in rural areas in Science City, and the line will arrange the operation scheduling plan according to the 293 bus schedule to ensure a reasonable departure interval and operating frequency.

As we all know, the planning of the bus network should not only investigate the travel needs of residents, but also combine the regional geographical conditions. There are obvious differences between the north and south of Science City, and the "well" shaped road network is particularly significant in the northern built-up area, while the southern area has more rural road sections such as Jiufeng Yaochi. These realities have also led to the inability of conventional buses to achieve full coverage.

It is planned to adopt the "online + offline" synchronous way to run dynamic buses, so that you can grasp big data through reservations, understand the travel characteristics of citizens, and optimize and adjust some bus routes to meet the needs of citizens, and such a model is very practical anywhere in Science City.
