With the completion of road markings, after the completion of ancillary projects such as drainage, installation of guardrail panels, and traffic signs, at 7 a.m. on April 28, the water damage reconstruction project of the Wu'an section of the Xingyang Line (G234) of the National Highway in Handan City was completed and opened to traffic, which was completed and opened to traffic 2 months earlier than planned.
The opening of the project not only improves the disaster prevention and mitigation ability of the city's trunk roads, but also greatly facilitates the travel of the people in the towns and villages along the line, and also effectively guarantees the travel needs of tourists in the western tourist hotspots of the city during the "May Day" holiday.
The project is located in the north of Huoshui Village, Wu'an City, downstream of the Jingniang Lake Reservoir Dam. On July 28, 2023, due to the impact of heavy rainfall and disaster weather, many places were damaged in the Huoshui Village section of the National Highway G234 Xingyang Line, and traffic was interrupted, causing great inconvenience to the public.
After the disaster, under the correct leadership of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, the Handan Municipal Transportation Bureau quickly launched the flood control emergency rescue plan, and jointly carried out the rescue and rescue of the flood-damaged roads in conjunction with the Wu'an Municipal Government.
The total length of the project is 1.559 kilometers, and the road width is 15.5 meters. Construction will start on January 3, 2024, the retaining wall construction will be completed on March 16, the half-width roadbed gravel backfill treatment will be completed from March 16 to the end of March, the full-width roadbed construction will be completed from April 2 to April 15, the water-stabilized paving will be completed from April 15 to April 19, the lower layer of asphalt concrete will be paved on April 25, the upper layer will be paved on April 26, the marking line will be drawn and the traffic safety facilities such as guardrail panels will be installed on April 27, and all will be completed and opened to traffic at 7 a.m. on April 28.
The participating units carefully organized the construction, and invested a total of 5,505 sets of excavators, loaders, dump trucks, road rollers, fog cannon trucks, sprinkler trucks, sweepers and other machinery and equipment, with 8,210 personnel, and successfully completed and opened to traffic in 116 days.
