Break through the pass and realize the dream of Asia's first deep well
"There are hills and valleys in the chest, and mountains and rivers in the eyes". In May 2014, Li Qintao joined the construction team of Laizhou Huijin Shaling Gold Mine Project and was entrusted with the important responsibility of the manager of the company's engineering management department. As a typical representative of the ultra-large and ultra-deep gold underground mine in China, the Shaling Gold Mine Project has been listed as a key project and key infrastructure project in Shandong Province, a special deep mineral resources exploration and mining demonstration project in the "Future Space" in the "Future Industry" by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a "Key Project for Resource Development" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
After five years of preparation, on May 9, 2019, the vertical shaft of Laizhou Huijin Shaling Gold Mine entered the formal construction stage. As a large-scale, large-scale and long-term well construction project, there are different degrees of difficulties and obstacles in terms of management and coordination, as well as in construction and production. Li Qintao led his team to follow the instructions of the company's leaders to "grasp both engineering construction and scientific research", and stared at the project site day and night to achieve all-round control of the project construction progress, technical quality, safe and civilized construction, etc., to ensure the construction quality.
It's a whole new challenge!
At that time, there was no successful experience in the construction of more than 1,500 meters of deep wells in China, and there were too many difficulties ahead to gnaw this "hard bone".
As the backbone of the project team, Li Qintao is well aware of his mission and has always been at the forefront of the project. He insisted on going to the front line every day, working closely with the construction unit, like a careful conductor, to ensure that every note was accurate.
He firmly believes that only by constantly challenging oneself can one discover a broader world. Li Qintao often shares his experience with the engineering team: "As an engineer, the fastest way to grow is to take root in front-line projects, sharpen yourself like a whetstone, and do more challenging work. ”
The hundred-year plan must not be slack. As an executor of engineering design, Li Qintao is well aware of the importance of design. He leads the team to integrate the concept of "construction and optimization" into every project, like a delicate craftsman, constantly carving and optimizing the design scheme. He cooperated with colleagues in the design institute to go to excellent mines at home and abroad for inspection, in-depth exchanges with industry experts, and absorb the spark of wisdom.
In terms of shaft engineering, Li Qintao and his team skillfully used the methods of optimizing the size and simplifying the system, reducing the excavation volume by 13,900 m³ and saving the project 19.4 million yuan in investment. In terms of Matoumen support mode, he has a unique vision to adjust the original design of reinforced concrete support to high-strength impact-resistant fiber concrete support, which injected a strong impetus into the project, not only accelerated the construction progress, but also saved about 3.36 million yuan of investment.
In terms of ventilation system, Li Qintao and his team finally decided to change the ventilation method to a single extraction type through in-depth research, and proved its feasibility through demonstration. This optimization measure directly reduced 6 sets of fans, reduced the installed capacity of the main fan by 2020kW, reduced the engineering volume of the tunneling chamber by about 5122m³ and the supporting engineering volume of about 745m³, saved the ventilation power cost of the main fan per ton of mine by 3.33 yuan/t for the project, and saved the investment of 18.63 million yuan.
Dig one meter at a time, and break through one level at a time. On May 26, 2022, the main shaft excavation project of the Shaling Gold Mine Project of Laizhou Huijin Mining Investment Co., Ltd. was completed at 1,551.8 meters, setting a record for the deepest one-time shaft excavation in Asia. On May 6, 2023, the auxiliary shaft excavation project was successfully completed at a depth of 1,459 meters. All the hardships paid by the project construction team have finally reaped fruitful fruits, and all the construction personnel are excited. At this moment, perhaps only those who have fought can appreciate the bitterness and hardship hidden behind this victory.
For 4 years, more than 1,460 days and nights, Li Qintao and his team have made overall planning and scientific organization, and have successively overcome many construction problems such as deep shaft construction efficiency, blasting efficiency optimization, grouting water control, and equipment operation, and formed a series of deep construction operation specifications represented by post-wall grouting under deep complex geological conditions, successfully filling many technical gaps in the field of ultra-deep shaft construction in China, and finally overcoming high lifting, high temperature, high chlorine, With a total construction footage of 5,776.9 meters and a construction volume of 320,000 cubic meters, the construction of the project shaft shaft excavation project was successfully completed.
Ingenuity adheres to the interpretation of the new era of golden people with hard work
For Li Qintao, "continuous rotation" has become a norm. At 12 o'clock at noon, as soon as he returned to the surface from the mine, someone came to him with a form to sign, and in the locker room, people kept asking him to report to work. When everyone else had finished eating, he hurried to the cafeteria. At half past one in the afternoon, Li Qintao appeared at the company's scheduling meeting on time. At 6 o'clock in the afternoon, it was already past the end of work, and the author tried to go to the office to talk to Li Xintao again, only to see a pile of documents on his desktop, and turned around, he was in the next office, together with Sun Fuchen, the director of the mining workshop, and the project manager of Zhejiang Zhongxiang Engineering Company, were negotiating a contract.
"Working all night, diligent and dedicated", this is the most direct impression of employees on him. Since joining the Laizhou Huijin Shaling Gold Mine project team in 2014, he has devoted himself to his work and devoted all his energy to the mining business, without holidays, day and night, year after year, without changing his original intention, and rarely accompanying his family.
In the early stage of the project, Li Qintao actively investigated and analyzed the project site selection, planning and design, local hydrogeological environment, equipment selection, material market situation and other links, found the right entry point, and found the right entry point. He has put forward effective measures in terms of construction subcontract price calculation and negotiation, and has worked closely with various departments to actively participate in the preparation of various professional application materials to ensure the smooth progress of license processing and escort the start of the project.
When the project was transferred to the underground construction stage, he was even more at the forefront, fighting side by side with the construction unit to overcome difficulties together. The construction requirements of well construction projects are high, the process is complex, and there are many general subcontracting units involved, which makes it difficult to manage. As the manager of the project management department, Li Qintao knows the art of coordination and scheduling. With extraordinary dedication and a sense of responsibility, he has zero procrastination, zero hauling, and zero mistakes, and rigorously grasps every detail that may affect the progress and quality of the project.
If there is a call, the mission must be fulfilled. As a front-line project manager, you need to have the determination to achieve the goal and spare no effort to struggle.
Every morning morning meeting, every Monday scheduling meeting, he is as punctual as a clock, keeping the pulse of the shaft construction at any time. It is with this indomitable spirit that he has created one record after another in the construction of the project: in the face of the challenge of long cycle time in the early stage of shaft construction, he skillfully adjusted the process, optimized the blasting, replaced the equipment, and stably shortened the original cycle time of 30-40 hours to 23-26 hours, and refreshed the fastest record of 153.6 meters of shaft construction in a single month!

The design depth of the Shaling gold mine roadway project of Laizhou Huijin Company is deep and difficult. Due to the complexity of deep formation stress, geological conditions, hydrological conditions, and uncertainties and unknown factors, a series of "roadblocks" have been encountered in the process of well construction.
With Li Qintao as the core, the company established the "Li Qintao Innovation Studio". In the face of these challenges, Li Qintao and his team chose to rise to the challenge and vigorously carry out key core technology research, so as to provide Huijin solutions to solve the problem of "stuck neck" of new technologies, new processes and new equipment in China's deep mines.
From 2019 to 2024, the "Li Qintao Innovation Studio" has led the research of 7 technical innovations, including ventilation, blasting, grouting, rock mechanics, support, design optimization, and comprehensive utilization of tailings.
He led the technical staff to extensively sort out the difficult problems and "stuck neck" problems in the construction of the ultra-deep shaft roadway project of the Shaling Gold Mine, and established a number of scientific research projects in China National Gold Group Corporation for in-depth research. As the "vanguard" and "leader" of Huijin's technical research, Li Qintao has led the team to always fight at the forefront of original and leading scientific and technological research. Outstanding research results have been made in the research of key technologies for fine-grained tailings paste filling, as well as the research on deep rock mechanics and mining methods, and have won a number of provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards.
In terms of the research on key blasting technology of ultra-deep shafts, "Li Qintao Innovation Studio" conducted in-depth discussions on the problems of low blasting efficiency and large proportion of over-excavation, and proposed solutions, which not only improved the construction efficiency, but also reduced the amount of slag and shortened the construction cycle time.
In terms of rock mechanics and roof classification research, the "Li Qintao Innovation Studio" carried out pre-classification and roof classification by analyzing the rock mechanical characteristics of the Shaling gold mine and combining the actual geological conditions, which provided an important basis for the subsequent support design and construction.
In terms of comprehensive utilization of tailings, "Li Qintao Innovation Studio" innovatively put forward a harmless treatment plan for tailings, and solved the problem of tailings storage through tailings filling, tailings grading sales and other measures, which not only made a positive contribution to the goal of reducing tailings emissions from mines, but also injected new vitality into the company's sustainable development.
