According to a number of Thai media sources, recently, the Office of Trade Policy and Strategy of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand and the Department of International Trade Promotion released Thailand's export data to Chinese provinces, aiming to create opportunities for Thai enterprises to enter the markets of Chinese provinces, because there are diversity in lifestyle, culture and consumption in Chinese provinces, and trading styles are also very different.
According to the data, Thailand's average market share in China's 31 provinces/administrative regions is currently 2.05%, and the average import value of China's provinces/administrative regions from Thailand is about 51.072 billion US dollars. Among them, the three provinces with the highest market share in Thailand are Tibet, Guangxi and Yunnan.
At the same time, the Ministry of Commerce also analysed Thailand's potential export products based on the proportion of imports from Thailand by province/territory. Among them, most of the potential products are industrial products, accounting for 83.3%, including copper, automobile tires, rubber products, etc., and agricultural products and food products account for 16.7%, including cereal flour, cassava products, coconuts and fruits.
In addition, the data shows that the top 10 provinces/administrative regions in terms of market share and number of potential products are as follows:
1. Tibet: Thailand has a market share of 9.7%, an import value of 16 million US dollars, and 2 potential products;
2. Guangxi: Thailand has a market share of 6.1%, an import value of 2.986 billion US dollars, and 42 potential products;
3. Yunnan: Thailand has a market share of 5.6%, an import value of 1.319 billion US dollars, and 101 potential products;
4. Guangdong: Thailand has a market share of 3.7%, an import value of 15.07 billion US dollars, and 191 potential products;
5. Hunan: Thailand has a market share of 3.7%, an import value of 1.169 billion US dollars, and 68 potential products;
6. Chongqing: Thailand has a market share of 3.6%, an import value of 1.223 billion US dollars, and 59 potential products;
7. Guizhou: Thailand has a market share of 3.4%, an import value of US$116 million, and 18 potential products;
8. Qinghai: Thailand has a market share of 3%, an import value of 8 million US dollars, and 4 potential products;
9. Zhejiang: Thailand has a market share of 2.8%, an import value of 5.334 billion US dollars, and 142 potential products;
10. Shandong: Thailand has a market share of 2.1%, an import value of US$3.946 billion, and 142 potential products.
