On the afternoon of April 28, the "2024 Zhongguancun Forum - World Green Design Forum" was successfully held in Beijing. In addition, the forum was also supported by East China University of Science and Technology, China Association of Development Zones, China Electronic Chamber of Commerce, Chaoyang International Science and Technology Innovation Service Company and other relevant units, as well as the forum's ecological partners Unicom Zhiwang Technology Co., Ltd., Guangdong Future Design and Research Institute (IXDC) and industry partner Yicai.
General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that "the new quality productivity itself is the green productivity", and green design will provide theoretical and planning guidance for the new quality productivity. Focusing on the theme of "International Standards for Green Design to Promote the Development of Green Productivity", this forum invited academicians and experts at home and abroad to discuss and promote the construction of international standards for green design and the practical application of global green design.
The forum invited more than 20 government agencies, research institutes, universities, industry organizations, leading enterprises and authoritative experts from 11 countries, including Belgium, China, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Pakistan, South Korea, Namibia and the Republic of Togo, to share the best cases of international standard construction of green design and green development in key areas. Publish the latest research results, build a high-end professional exchange platform for global industrial green cooperation, and provide international standard reference for governments and industries to carry out green transformation.

Wang Hualin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and dean of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering of East China University of Science and Technology, shared with the audience the research results of carbon neutrality goal-driven green chemical design innovation and the importance of green and low-carbon overall design. Mr Sham Ho-cheung, Associate Vice-President of the University of Hong Kong and President of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences for Young Sciences, pointed out that green design is a powerful way to develop new green manufacturing technologies, and analyzed the importance of design from the perspective of environmental protection. Lu Jian, Academician of the French National Academy of Technical Sciences and Dean of the School of Engineering of City University of Hong Kong, delivered a report entitled "Green Design and Additive Manufacturing of Advanced Materials: Principles, Processes and Applications", sharing the importance of green design in additive manufacturing. Liu Guanzhong, one of the first senior professors of liberal arts at Tsinghua University, called for attention to the importance of designing and promoting green living and production methods through a report entitled "Promoting the Use and Discouragement of Possession". Edoardo Monaco, Dean of the International College of Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University, expert on international development and sustainable development, and strategic advisor of the China Club of Rome, shared the roadmap of innovation and sustainable development in developing countries, emphasizing the dimensional concept of innovation and sustainable development.

"World Green Design Capital" is the honorary title of leading city in green design awarded by the World Green Design Organization. Through the creation of cities, we will promote city managers to focus on the source and implement the United Nations concept of sustainable development through system linkage, promote enterprises to apply green technologies and green materials, produce green products, guide the public to pay attention to and participate in green development, and realize the integration and symbiosis of man and nature. In order to fully implement the national dual carbon goal and grasp the major strategic opportunity of the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou Baiyun District actively applied for the selection of "World Green Design Capital", and comprehensively promoted the sustainable development process of Baiyun District's green design industry to internationalization and greening. Mr. Zhou Lidong, the second-level inspector of the National People's Congress of Baiyun District, Guangzhou, and Ms. Ye Ying, the director of the Helong Sub-district Office, released the declaration of the initiative to create a "World Green Design Capital" and the city's green practice results. It is hoped that through the release of the "World Green Design Capital" and the innovation of local cities, the rise of international cities with green design characteristics will be created, the new engine of economic growth and new international competition will be empowered by the city, and the global sustainability process will be promoted!

On the spot, two green design products were awarded the Green Leaf Label certificate, respectively from the X90 silent digital intelligent toilet of Jomu Group and the SA600 air purifier from the United Kingdom, and Mr. Li Yingzhe, the United Nations Peace Ambassador and Vice Chairman of the World Green Design Organization, was invited to award them the "Green Leaf Label" certificate
The construction of international standards for green design initiated by the World Green Design Organization covers 11 sub-standard areas such as green products, green construction, green energy, and green transportation (logistics), and has received positive responses and participation from many universities, industry institutions, and leading enterprises. The forum launched the establishment of the "Green Design International Standards Working Committee" and awarded expert certificates.
