This year's May Day holiday railway passenger transport work lasted from April 29 to May 6, a total of 8 days. During this year's May Day holiday, the public's enthusiasm for travel and tourism is high, and the central and western regions of Inner Mongolia will usher in the peak of spring tours, aerospace theme tours, intercity short-distance tours and inbound and outbound tours. The grassland railway is expected to send 1.32 million passengers, with a daily average of 165,000 passengers, a year-on-year increase of 3%, and the peak passenger flow is expected to occur on April 30, May 1 and May 5.
In order to meet the travel needs of passengers, the grassland railway implements a peak line train schedule during the May Day holiday. Eight pairs of peak line trains will be added, including three pairs of EMU trains entering Beijing at night, and the service hours of high-speed railways will be further extended; 22 pairs of temporary passenger trains will be arranged, including 12 pairs of inter-regional medium and long-distance temporary passenger trains and 10 pairs of intercity temporary passenger trains within the tube; the number of popular trains will be expanded and added, and the single-day capacity will be increased by more than 50,000 passengers compared with normal days.
The 12 new pairs of inter-regional medium and long-distance temporary passenger trains are: Baotou to Shenzhen East, Baotou to Hangzhou, Hohhot to Guangzhou, Hohhot to Yinchuan, Hohhot to Mianyang, Hohhot East to Wuchang, Hohhot to Xi'an, Hohhot East to Linfen, Hohhot East to Chifeng South, Baotou to Shenyang, and 2 pairs of Baotou to Datong, covering most of the country's tourist hotspots. The 10 pairs of intercity temporary passenger trains in the tube are: Hohhot East to Linhe, Hohhot East to Ordos, Hohhot to Jining South, Hohhot East to Baotou, Hohhot to Ordos, Baotou to Zhelimu (Tongliao), Baotou to Fengzhen, Hohhot to Jining South, and 2 pairs between Hohhot and Baotou to meet the people's intercity short-distance travel needs.
On the eve of the May Day holiday, the Shenzhou-18 manned spacecraft was successfully launched, and the space tourism fever continued to heat up. The grassland railway will run the K7911 passenger train from Hohhot to Ejina on May 1 and the K7912 passenger train from Ejina to Hohhot on May 2, increasing the capacity of more than 1,300 passengers, so as to meet the needs of aerospace enthusiasts to go to Dongfeng Aerospace City to check in and feel the charm of the aerospace spirit.
As the only land railway passenger port in North China, the Erenhot railway port is expected to increase the number of inbound and outbound passengers compared with normal days, and the local railway department will cooperate with the customs and border inspection to take measures such as increasing the window channel and staff service guidance who are proficient in Mongolian and English to improve the quality of service.
