According to multiple media reports, the brother of Pittsburgh Steelers defensive player Stephon Tuitt was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Georgia late Wednesday. He is 23 years old

Tuith, an 8-year veteran, confirmed the death of his younger brother, Richard Bartlett III, on social media on Friday.

"You live in heaven and there is no pressure. I miss you so much, bro," Tuith wrote on Instagram. "We love you and hope to see you again one day." Thank you for your prayers and calls. ”

Capt. Todd Hood of the Johns Creek Police Department told Fox 5 in Atlanta that around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Bartlett was helping his girlfriend get a mattress when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle.

After fixing it, he returned to the door on the driver's side and talked to the driver. Just then, a car coming from behind made a sudden slight turn, hitting the back of the car, knocking down pedestrians and causing him to die. ”

"The car made a U-turn on the road and returned to the scene. I guess the driver saw what he or she hit and then fled the scene and came to Gwennet County. ”

The victim's girlfriend and mother told police it was a dark four-door sedan, possibly a BMW.

The Steelers shared Tuti's message on Twitter, adding: "I deeply regret your loss. We have been thinking of you and your family. ”

Police have asked anyone with relevant information to contact Johns Creek Police

"We don't know why they fled the scene," Hood added. "We don't know what they'll be charged with if they park, but because they don't park they're going to face a hit-and-run and a car accident homicide."

Tuith, 28, was selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2014 draft. In 76 games, he has had a total of 246 steals, 34.5 steals and 6 forced goals conceded.
