Kusturica, chairman of the jury of the "Temple of Heaven Award", judges David White, Carlos Shaldanha, Jessica Hausina, Fei Xiang, Ma Li, and Zhu Yilong appeared at the post-screening judges' meeting, and "Stop-and-Go" director Long Fei and screenwriter Huang Jia also came to share the behind-the-scenes details of the creation with the audience.
"Stop-and-Go" tells the story of Wu Di, a middle-aged man who "failed" in Beipiao, returning to his hometown, and relearning to get along with his family "intimately" under the record of his old classmates, trying to realize his dreams, and bringing unexpected changes to his life.
Director Long Fei admitted that when he first extended the invitation to Hu Ge, he was not confident that he would be willing to take on the role of a screenwriter again, but after watching the performances of "It's Worth the Trip" and "Stop-and-Go", Long Fei understood and was surprised by Hu Ge's resilience as an actor, thinking that he was not repeating, but challenging two completely extreme characters. Screenwriter Huang Jia commented that Hu Ge has a "youthful spirit", which also makes the ridicule of "middle-aged in the North Drift" more contrasting in him.
Subsequently, the judges of the Temple of Heaven Award also appeared at the meeting and shared their reasons for unanimously choosing "Stop and Go" as the best film of the Temple of Heaven Award. The chairman of the jury, Kusturica, said that although the cost of the film is not large, the emotional impact on the audience is huge. He hopes that this film can give young people a creative inspiration and space to think.
Fei Xiang previously revealed at the closing ceremony that the seven judges were unanimously optimistic about "Stop-and-Go". At the meeting, he also shared his reasons for loving "Stop-and-Go": "Movies are not works made by artists for themselves, they need to be shared. "Stop-and-Go" is not only artistic, but also a win-win situation in reaching the audience.
Zhu Yilong also mentioned his love for the style of the film, he said that he most appreciated the unpretentious emotional expression and unpretentious sense of humor of "Stop and Go", which is rare for the creation of this kind of theme.
