Good news! The long-awaited Jinfeng Tunnel will be officially opened to traffic this morning.
Yesterday, a number of fans broke the news that the Jinfeng Tunnel is arranging the opening event site, and the opening ceremony is expected to be held at the end of the month.
Some fans sent pictures of the Jinfeng Tunnel taken at 10:38 p.m. on April 27, showing that the Jinfeng Tunnel has completed preparations before it opens to traffic.
The green landscape at the mouth of the tunnel has been completed, and it is verdant, showing that spring is in full bloom. The tunnel is brightly lit and ready to go.
The Jinfeng Tunnel Project starts from Daishan Avenue in Bishan District in the west and ends at Gaoxin Avenue in Chongqing High-tech Zone in the east, with a total length of 9.2 kilometers, with 1 tunnel of 3.0 kilometers, 4 interchanges and ancillary projects such as comprehensive pipe network.
The main line of the Jinfeng Tunnel Project (Main City Section) is 6.1km long, which is an urban trunk road, with two-way six lanes and a design speed of 60km/h.
The line crosses Biqing Road (Qinggang Interchange), passes through Jinyun Mountain (Jinfeng Tunnel), crosses the Ring Expressway (Jinfeng Interchange), Xinyu Avenue (underpass), and ends at Gaoxin Avenue.
The main projects of the project include Jinfeng Tunnel (3000m), 2006m of main line section subgrade, 1093m of main line bridge, and 2 tunnel management rooms, highway toll stations and overpasses.
The project is divided into two parts: the main city section and the Bishan section.
The Bishan section is located west of Biqing Road to Daishan Avenue, with a length of 3.1 kilometers, and the planned construction period is until February 2025, and the construction of the main line bridge and interchange is currently underway, and the whole line is expected to be ready for traffic by the end of 2024.
Fortunately, after the opening of the Jinfeng Tunnel, the driving time from the Jinfeng area of Science City to Bishan District has been shortened from 40 minutes to 6 minutes!
At the same time, the Jinfeng Tunnel is directly connected to the central urban area and Bishan District, which can save 20 minutes of travel time, which will alleviate the traffic pressure of the Bishan Tunnel and the Jinyunshan Tunnel of the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway, further improve the road network structure in the western part of the main urban area, and promote the construction of the Science City and the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.
