Olympic Qualification Series · Shanghai
May 16-19 Shanghai Huangpu Riverside
"Is the center of gravity in the back or in the middle?"
"You can put it in the middle. After listening to the advice of the seven-and-a-half-year-old "little coach", two-time Olympic champion Zhong Angel began to try: starting from a standing riding position, she pushed the handlebars with her feet, and tried to lift the front wheels of the BMX off the ground...... One lap, two laps, three laps, facing the media reporters who were sprinting with guns on the spot, Zhong Angel chose to challenge a new field he didn't understand, "It's different, but it's fun!"
On the morning of April 23, this "temporary teaching" on BMX sports was held at the Huangpu Riverside, where the Olympic Qualification Series Shanghai is located. Although he was not able to go to the competition venue to experience the scene, after just half an hour of "teaching", Zhong Angel who came to visit the camp was already interested: "BMX freestyle is a project that we have developed rapidly and achieved rapid progress. I am very much looking forward to our Chinese players successfully qualifying for the Olympic Games, accumulating more experience in this competition, and achieving breakthroughs in the Paris Olympics in the future!"
He began to learn cycling at the age of 11 and entered the national team at the age of 18. At the Olympic Qualification Series in Shanghai, her "coach" was a younger BMX enthusiast, the youngest of whom was only 7 years old. In the face of the demonstration of BMX riders, Zhong Angel tried while figuring it out, and after a few laps, he also looked good.
Hearing the praise of her "quick to get started" at the scene, Zhong Angel modestly said that the basic actions such as lifting the front wheel, the rear wheel and standing and riding are technical exercises that she usually has in training, so she can get started quickly. A careful comparison shows that BMX bikes are still very different from racing bikes, "for example, when we usually ride with our feet stuck on the pedals, it will be easier to do some jumping movements, but the pedals of BMX bikes are completely free, and it still requires skill."
When it comes to the upcoming Olympic Qualification Series Shanghai from May 16th to 19th, Angel Zhong is full of expectations. She admits that among the four major sports, her affection for BMX is the most special, "after all, it also belongs to a type of cycling".
At the same time, rock climbing, skateboarding, break dancing and other things are also novelties in her mind, "If I have the opportunity, I definitely want to try it." Saying that, Zhong Angel did not forget to invite the reporters at the scene: "Do you want to try BMX?"
In addition to the top competitions, the city sports festival will also be held at the Huangpu Riverside from May 16 to 19. BMX, skateboarding, breakdancing and rock climbing will be a fun area for visitors to enjoy a wide range of experiential activities. In this regard, Angel Zhong enthusiastically encouraged the public to participate in the experience, "Of course, safety first. If you feel like you're basic, you can also try the feeling of riding this bike - the feeling of sitting on it is completely different from a regular bike, which is very interesting. ”
