At the beginning of the event, the teenagers donated the unused books they brought from their homes to the Good Neighbor Reading Room in exchange for a fresh green and organic vegetable and to give the idle books a new lease of life.

Parents are very satisfied with the idea of book donation, and everyone has said that children read books "updating" quickly, but many books are not cheap, and it is a pity not to throw them away. Now that books can be donated to the reading room of the Good Neighbor Center, children can not only see more different kinds of books, but also make children aware of the importance of resource recycling.

As the saying goes, "There is a house of gold in the book." "Some people gain knowledge and strength from books, and some people have made their lives expansive because of books. Volunteers from the Good Neighbor Center explained to the young people the six benefits of reading, including expanding their knowledge, improving their overall quality, cultivating their sentiments, and cultivating good moral character.

In the book sharing session, the teenagers were eager to try and push the atmosphere to a climax. The teenagers took the stage one by one, carefully recommending their favorite books to everyone, and at the same time sharing their feelings after reading and their daily reading habits outside of class.

Not only that, several students also carefully designed and made a "reading planner" to show everyone one by one. Zhou Jingxian's daily reading plan is to use the half hour before school in the morning to read science fiction exploration books, "The early morning is the quietest time and the most concentrated, which is a good time for reading." "There are also students who use the evening to read before going to bed to relieve the tension of the day's study life.

Through this activity, parents also have a better understanding of their children and their reading habits. One of the parents excitedly said, "I think this kind of activity is very meaningful, usually my son likes to read books, but he doesn't like to communicate with us about which books he is reading, and today I finally know." ”

The relevant person in charge of the Third Good Neighbor Center of Dinghai Road Street said that in the future, it will continue to actively carry out such book day activities, so that more young people and community residents in the jurisdiction can experience the fun of reading, and jointly create a harmonious and friendly community cultural atmosphere.
