At the 2004 North American International Auto Show, Land Rover unveiled the Range Stormer Concept, and the first Range Rover Sport was inspired by the Range Stormer Concept and went on sale. As the name suggests, this car is meant to make the Land Rover sportier and have a better driving experience. The Range Rover Sport was developed on the LR3's semi-monocoque integrated body frame, combining off-road toughness with monocoque structural rigidity, which also resulted in the Range Rover Sport weighing 2,495 kg.
