The so-called surname Yuan, "Surname Yuan" researches "Yuan, with the nationality as the surname, the name of the ancient people on the occasion of the Yin Zhou Dynasty, also known as the ghost party, the family name." In fact, from the textual point of view, there is an obvious connection between "媿" and "ghost", and later evolved into the surname "Kui", etc., and the historical records record that the surname of the descendants of the ghost party is Zhai, Lu, Luo, Quan, Xu, Pu, etc.

In 2014, Jilin University tested the DNA of human bones in the cemetery of Shanxi Province, with a total of 27 samples, and the results showed that the paternal Y chromosome only had three series: O, N, and Q, with the O series being the most, Q1 having 11 cases, and the N series being the least.

The problem is: let's not talk about anything else, let's just say that the area from Shanxi to Beijing is not conducive to the northern nomads going south on a large scale, going all the way to attack the Shang Dynasty with strong cities in Zhengzhou or Qufu, Shandong, and the Qiang people in the west, and the ghost side in the northwest, so how can the northern peoples overthrow the Shang Dynasty and then go to Anyang to rebuild the Yin Shang?
It is worth pondering that many interpretations of Chinese history by Western scholars have been overturned again and again, and this has proved that Western interpretations are very unreliable, so are Western interpretations of ancient Egypt and Sumer really reliable? Perhaps, the current task of Chinese historians today is not only to focus on China, but also to look at the world, and re-examine the world history constructed by the West, instead of copying Western narratives.
