In 2023, "Eight Thousand Miles of Encounters: Sino-German Art Exchange Exhibition" officially opened the art exchange between the Nanning Museum and artists from Berlin, Germany. After a year, Nanning Museum has continued a new chapter in transnational cultural and artistic exchanges.
On the morning of April 19, 2024, the "Encounter II - Sino-German Art Exchange Exhibition", jointly organized by the Nanning Museum, the Nanning People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Guangxi General Chamber of Commerce of the European Union, was officially launched at the Nanning Museum.

After the opening ceremony, the Chinese and German artists elaborated on their works for the audience. The artists explained to the audience the creative concept, the background and the story behind the works in simple terms.
On the day of the opening ceremony, an academic seminar with the theme of "Exploration of Cross-cultural Art Cooperation Model" was held in the multi-functional hall on the first floor of Nanning Museum. Chinese and German artists gathered together to share their creative experiences and artistic views, and conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics such as Chinese and German artistic creation, cultural differences and commonalities. At the meeting, the artists talked about the relationship between artistic creation and traditional architecture, traditional culture, science and culture, and artificial AI, and the development of art needs to be combined with multiple aspects. During the Q&A session, the two sides had a heated discussion on the issues between artificial AI and artistic creation, and between realism and abstraction.
Nanning Museum is committed to promoting cultural exchanges at home and abroad, enriching the cultural life of citizens and promoting the prosperity and development of urban culture by holding various art exhibitions. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the all-round strategic partnership between China and Germany, and the holding of this exhibition has built a good platform for the Chinese and German art circles to learn from each other, and will also become a new starting point for the exchange of artists between the two countries, stimulate more creative sparks, and make new contributions to the prosperity of world art.
Exhibition Introduction:
Previously, artists from the two countries went to Nanning, Hengzhou, and Liuzhou Sanjiang to sketch together. Combining art and life to create works, this "Encounter II-Sino-German Art Exchange Exhibition" was formed. The exhibition covers painting, photography, sculpture, installation art and other categories, and exhibits more than 100 works of art by 8 artists from Berlin, Germany and 9 artists from China. In the exhibition, the audience can not only appreciate the breadth and profundity of traditional Chinese and German art, but also witness the innovation and development of contemporary art in the context of globalization, and through the language of art, cross national borders, break cultural barriers, and enhance mutual understanding and friendship between people.
