A few days ago, DENZA's first sedan, the Z9 GT, was officially unveiled. The car adopts a new design language, offering both pure electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains, and will be unveiled to the public at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show.

On the outside, the Denza Z9 GT adopts a new design language, with a simple front section, slender headlights, and LED daytime running lights underneath. The front envelope area integrates two intelligent hardware such as lidar, millimeter-wave radar, and ACC assisted driving radar.

The front of the Denza Z9 GT EV and Range Extender models differ slightly, with the license plate holder being closer to the front fold and a black trim with diamond-shaped elements inside the front bumper, while the Range Extender adds an active grille above the license plate holder and a black horizontal trim strip on the front bumper.

The Denza Z9 GT features a fastback body design with concealed door handles, a "Z" shaped black trim that modifies the side profiles and a rear-facing side camera hidden in the trim. The car is equipped with multi-spoke two-tone rims with different specifications for the front and rear wheels, with 255/40 R21 at the front and 275/40 R21 at the rear.
The rear of the Denza Z9 GT is full-bodied, with interior elements inspired by an hourglass. In addition, the Denza Z9 GT is equipped with a skeleton spoiler and an active rear wing, while the rear bumper also has body-coloured trim.

In terms of dimensions, the length, width and height of the Denza Z9 GT are 5180/1990/1500 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 3125 mm. For reference, the Porsche Panamera with a similar body styling has a length, width and height of 5,052/19371423 mm and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

The Denza Z9 GT will come standard with a panoramic sunroof, as well as optional streaming exterior mirrors, a carbon fiber package, and more. In addition, depending on the model, the car is expected to provide LiDAR on both sides of the front surround and roof position, as well as the Yunlin-A intelligent air body control system (mainly air suspension).

In terms of power, the Denza Z9 GT EV is equipped with three drive motors, one induction asynchronous motor on the front axle and two permanent magnet synchronous motors on the rear axle. The maximum power of the drive motor on the front axle is 230 kW, and the maximum power of both drive motors on the rear axle is 240 kW.
At the same time, the car is matched with a lithium iron phosphate battery from Nanning Fodi Battery Co., Ltd., but the range information has not been announced. Judging from the rear marking, the three-motor powertrain may be named "e³". The extended-range model is expected to be equipped with the same drive motor as the all-electric version, but the battery capacity will be reduced, and the range extender information has not been announced.

The Denza Z9 GT will be the first model of the BYD Group to be equipped with a three-motor powertrain, which will also make the performance of the car second only to the Yangwang U9/U7. At the same time, it is also clear that the Z9 GT inherits all the latest technologies of the current DENZA brand. However, the interior design and configuration information of the car have not been announced, so it is still unknown what the level of intelligent performance will be.

At present, the prices of the models on sale under the DENZA brand are concentrated in the range of 200,000-500,000 yuan, but the Z9 GT is significantly higher than the existing models of the DENZA brand in terms of body size and configuration, so the editors believe that the final price of the car may be significantly higher than 500,000 yuan. Of course, just as the U9 is to the brand, the Z9 GT is more of a showcase of the DENZA brand's technical prowess, so it may be more strategic.
