According to the victim's girlfriend, she was playing with her boyfriend before the incident when suddenly 4-5 Koreans approached. Unexpectedly, the perpetrator walked behind her boyfriend and dragged away the 1 baht gold ornament he was wearing around his neck, so she quickly stepped forward to control him and alerted him to call for help.
The Korean man who caused the accident threw the gold ornaments on the ground when he saw that the situation was not good, but fortunately, staff and well-meaning passers-by arrived in time.
After being arrested, the thief denied committing the crime, falsely claimed to be Chinese, and refused to cooperate with the police's passport inspection. Suspicious of his confession, the police expanded their investigation and eventually arrested three other accomplices at the hotel.
It is reported that the police found 1 gold necklace and 1 gold-framed Buddha statue worth 50,000 baht in the hotel room where the four people were staying, and their certificates were confiscated. The police initially charged the four people with crimes such as theft and robbery, and they face up to five years in prison and a fine of not more than 10,000 baht.
