What is a Serial Server Module?

• Data conversion: The main function of the serial port server module is to convert the serial port data into Ethernet packets, and to unpack and restore the received Ethernet packets to serial port data. The NE2-T1/NE2-T1B comes with RJ45, supports 10/100M Ethernet interface, and is self-adapting for cross-direct connection.
• Protocol support: HTTP protocol (GET/POST request) is supported. The product supports 2 sockets, each of which supports TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP Server, UDP Client, HTTPC, and MQTTC. Server mode supports 5-way socket connections.
• Network configuration: It can be configured in a variety of ways, including configuration tools, web pages, and AT commands. Allows users to set IP addresses, subnet masks, gateways, port numbers, working modes (TCP/UDP), serial port parameters, and more.
• Modbus gateway: supports multiple Modbus gateways (simple protocol conversion, multi-master mode, storage gateway, configurable gateway, and active upload mode).
• Standard MQTT protocol: You can quickly access Alibaba Cloud, Baidu Cloud, OneNET, Huawei Cloud, and standard MQTT servers of version 3.1.1.
• Keepalive mechanism is supported to quickly detect network anomalies and quickly reconnect.
• Support DNS (Domain Name Resolution), and customize the domain name resolution server.
