Bright April day, drunk cherry red, and the cherry ripening season is again. On April 17, the reporter saw in the Shuai Township Cherry Valley located in Juxian Village, Gaosi Town, Lezhi County, that on the lush cherry trees, the red cherries were decorated with branches, crystal clear, and people were salivating.
Tourists pick cherries
"We have a total of 70 acres of cherry valley in Shuai Township, with 5 varieties of cherries, and now they are entering the picking period one after another, and there are tourists coming to pick every day during this time. Tan Wanjie, the person in charge of Shuaixiang Cherry Valley, said that because of the different varieties of cherries, the picking period is longer and is expected to last until early May.
"I heard that the cherries in Shuai Township Cherry Valley are ripe, and a few friends and I came here to play, not only can we eat while picking, but also take pictures and check in, which is very good!" Yang Zhen, a tourist from Lezhi City, told reporters.
As the saying goes, "cherries are delicious, trees are hard to grow", and the environment in which cherries grow is crucial. In 2018, the person in charge of Shuai Township Cherry Valley took a fancy to the convenient transportation conditions and superior planting environment of Juxian Village, and transferred the land of the villagers to plant cherries. After careful management and development in the early stage, the ripe cherry fruit has a thin skin, juicy and thick flesh, which not only makes the reputation of Shuai Xiang Cherry Valley famous, but also drives the surrounding villagers to benefit from it.
"I am a villager in Juxian Village, we transferred the land to Boss Tan to grow cherries, and I can usually come over to help with the work. Wang Chunhua, a villager in Juxian Village, said that he was very satisfied with the ease of working here and being able to take care of his family.
The cherries of Cherry Valley
In recent years, in order to help farmers increase income and promote industrial development, Gaosi Town has taken a multi-pronged approach to develop characteristic industries to scale, standardization and regionalization by optimizing regional layout and formulating development plans. Up to now, Gaosi Town has planted a total of 5,100 acres of grapes, 600 acres of mulberries, 120 acres of cherries and 12,000 acres of citrus.
