The first battalion and one company of the 47th Regiment of the Iron Tenth Division was a new starting point for our military life, and in May 64 I was sent from the regimental medical team to the first company as a medical officer. There are my comrades-in-arms and brothers who share weal and woe, life and death. For a long time, I have been thinking about my comrades-in-arms who I have not met for many years, I can't forget the days and nights we have walked together, I can't forget the cotton jacket with ice flowers and dripping water from the tunnel, I can't forget the clean military uniform soaked in cement and hardened, I can't forget the moving scene of you chasing me and shooting dry air guns in a hurry, I can't forget the stubborn comrades-in-arms who were slightly injured and couldn't get out of the line of fire, and I can't forget the nine comrades-in-arms who died in a row: Yu Baosheng, He Guangqian, Teng Jianlai, Yi Renrong, Lei Zhengde, Yan Jincheng, Li Yongxin, Zhi Xinmin, and Wang Ganai.

Whenever comrades-in-arms gather, as long as we pass by the martyrs' cemetery of the iron soldiers, we have to go there to see, and the comrades-in-arms I know or have never met, light a cigarette, and talk to them to comfort their young heroes.
In the Chengdu-Kunming Railway, the heroic deeds of Xu Wenke, a soldier of the 22nd Company of the 47th Regiment, were widely spread, when most of his body was buried in the collapsed stone, he put his life and death aside, and anxiously urged his comrades who came to rescue him to leave the danger area, and the comrades-in-arms escaped safely, and they were killed by the next landslide at the age of 21.
In 1970, the 10th Iron Division was ordered to go to Xunyang, Shaanxi Province, to participate in the construction of the Xiangyu Railway, where the mountains are high and the roads are dangerous, the slopes are steep and rapid, the geological conditions are very complicated, accidents occur frequently during the construction, and 887 accidents of various types occurred among the militia students, 675 people were injured and 260 people died. There were 343 accidents in the troops, 388 people were injured and 110 people died. After the health team moved to the Shu River, the work was not yet ready, the wounded and sick came one after another, and we performed cranial surgical debridement surgery for Pucheng Xuebing Guan Qunsheng on a makeshift stone slab, and after 32 days in a coma, he was finally pulled back from the line of death. Due to the heavy rain for several days, the Han River was flooded, and the patient could not be transferred, so he had to perform an acute abdomen open surgery for an engineer of the Chongqing Design Institute in the simple treatment room of the first-aid station, so that he could turn his life around.

This is a high school graduate of the class of '66 who has been sent to Tsinghua University. I was the last doctor to see him in his dying. is such a soldier, no one knew before his death, his father was the chief engineer of the 10th Iron Division, Wang Wenbo. When his son had an accident, he rushed to Shaanxi to see his son for the last time, and the cadres of the company blamed themselves, and the chief said: "I am in charge of the project, and I am responsible for the work accident." "In the regimental guest house, when he was alone at night, thinking of his beloved son, he could not contain his grief and began to cry loudly, this is what he said to her daughter Dr. Wang Minli when he was in his 90s, this is the only time in his life that he cried, this is our Tie Bing and Tie Bing's father.

In 1974, the troops moved to the Qinghai-Tibet line, and the 47th Regiment was stationed in Tianjun County, Qinghai Province. It undertook the construction of the Guanjiao Tunnel, the highest altitude of the first phase of the project. The geological condition of the Guanjiao Tunnel is very treacherous, the natural conditions are also very poor, it is said that when the troops first arrived on the plateau, a pig brought to Guanjiao Mountain from Shaanxi ran away, the soldiers ran after the pig vigorously, and the pig lay on the ground and died, and the pig's belly was cut open and the stomach was full of blood. Since then, the troops in the Guanjiao Mountain area have to do adaptive drills during the morning drills to prevent altitude reactions.

At 10:30 a.m. on April 10, 1975, a rare large collapse occurred in the Guanjiao Tunnel, and more than 1,500 cubic meters of earth and rock, which fell down like a landslide and cracked the ground, and the 127 officers and soldiers who were under construction were tightly sealed in the cave, and the situation was very critical. With the care and support of the Central Military Commission, the railway soldiers, and government leaders at all levels, the leaders of the divisions and regiments personally commanded the scene, and the officers and men worked together to launch a thrilling rescue battle. Yuan Wuxue, the squad leader of the first company, regardless of his personal life, rushed to the front against a possible landslide at any time, and with the cooperation of several comrades-in-arms such as Dang Baifa and Li Sanhu, he insisted on fighting for 14 hours and dug out a life channel. He also suggested that a steel pipe be inserted into the cave to communicate with the cave, and the communication between the comrades in distress in the cave and the rescue personnel outside the cave was restored, which gave great encouragement to the comrades-in-arms in distress, and with the joint efforts of everyone, all 127 comrades-in-arms escaped safely and were awarded second-class meritorious service.
