In order to strengthen patriotic education, inherit the red gene, and cultivate new people of the times, on April 14, the headquarters campus of Hai'an Experimental Primary School Education Group organized some representatives of young pioneers to visit and comfort the veterans of the Anti-Japanese War in Nanyang Village, Chengdong Town.
Veterans have made outstanding contributions and are the backbone of the Chinese nation. At the moment when the country and the nation were in peril, they carried an era on their shoulders and threw themselves into the war of resistance to save the country and the people with full enthusiasm and unlimited courage.
Grandpa Zhao Xinglong, a veteran of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, passionately recounted the experience of that year: "One night in winter, our machine gunners suddenly received an order from the regimental headquarters that our transport vehicles were about to arrive, and the pontoon bridge between the ravines on the transportation line was damaged by incendiary bombs of enemy planes, affecting the passage, and 18 local people have died in the rush repair. The enemy planes roared forward again, and the situation was extremely urgent, and the 12 fighters of our machine gunners were immediately divided into four 'water ice' heavy machine gun groups and were ready for battle. After a short while, the enemy planes flew in, and our side immediately fired at each other, so as not to give the enemy a chance to drop incendiary bombs. After more than 20 minutes of fighting, the enemy planes fled in a hurry, and our transport convoy passed through without a hitch. ”
The experience of every veteran is a living history, they carry the immortal glory of national dignity and retain precious national memory. The team members listened to the eventful years of the past and sighed at the hard-won peace and tranquility of today.
The team members sang the "Song of the Chinese Young Pioneers" to the veterans, performed Chen's Taijiquan, and brought them condolences to express their reverence for their dedication to youth and heroic resistance to the enemy.
Ding Changhong, a veteran of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, was full of emotion: "After so many years of victory, the people have not forgotten us. Thank you, children, I hope you will grow up strong and build and defend the motherland when you grow up. ”
A generation has a generation's journey, and a generation has a generation's responsibility. After the event, the team members said that they would keep in mind those eventful years, inherit the red spirit, let the patriotic flame always burn in their hearts, and repay the society and the motherland with practical actions.
