On the evening of April 16, many citizens stopped in front of the Tianshan store of Shanghai City Supermarket, which was already closed. Someone peeked through the crack in the door and found that the lights were on, but the shelves were empty, and there was no one. Some onlookers said that they had bought something at the supermarket the day before, and there was no sign of closing the store at that time. Some surrounding residents said that they did find that there were a lot less varieties of goods on the shelves of urban supermarkets recently, and some people thought that they were going to decorate, but they did not expect to close the store.
On the morning of April 17, a reporter from the Labor Daily saw outside the CITY SHOP Shanghai City Supermarket Yongxin Store located on the basement floor of Yongxinfang, Xuhui District, that the door of the store had been sealed, but there were still a large number of goods on the shelves in the store. On the glass wall of the store, the words "Chengchao egg rolls, annual sales of more than 3 million" are still posted, which is also a popular item in the supermarket. A billboard with the words "Membership benefits upgraded" is still displayed in front of the supermarket.
At the scene, the staff of Yongxinfang Property said that the seal was posted by the property owner on April 16, and the supermarket has been completely closed, but because the door is a glass door that cannot be closed tightly, the property owner has to put a seal to prevent people from entering and leaving without authorization to take away the goods. The staff of a "side stove" restaurant next to the supermarket said that when they came to work on April 15, they found that the supermarket was no longer working and had closed that day.
The Labor Daily reporter came to the Shanghai Center in Jing'an District, where the supermarket located underground has also been completely closed. At the scene, the underground entrance and exit to the supermarket have been blocked, and the up and down elevators have been suspended. In addition to the closure notice posted by Shanghai City International Enterprise Development Co., Ltd., Shanghai Centre also posted a "Notice to All Tenants" stating that the original Shanghai City Supermarket would be permanently closed. Some staff at the scene said that consumers are requested not to open the closure measures and go down to the underground supermarket without authorization, and if there is a new brand supermarket in the future, it will not be associated with the previous supermarket brand.

There was no substantive response from the online customer service
A reporter from the Labor Daily noticed that outside several Shanghai city supermarket stores that were in a state of closure, there were notices to consumers. It reads, "Consumers can search and follow the official account of the city supermarket through WeChat, and the online time of manual customer service is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m." "If you need to redeem a shopping card, you can select 'Contact Customer Service' online to make an appointment to go to the redemption point to redeem the shopping card."
Subsequently, the Labor Daily reporter prompted online consultation through the notice, but the customer service was always in a state of "waiting in line" and did not respond substantially.
Previously, some media reported that the manual customer service of the city supermarket had said that consumers who have excess shopping cards need to provide their card numbers and photos, and once the appointment is successful, customers need to go to an offline exchange point in Qingpu District for exchange, and the offline exchange point will provide exchange services from April 22. The customer service said that the redemption was for the product, and the customer was required to provide the original purchase channel of the shopping card and the approximate amount of the planned redemption.

However, when the reporter rushed to the 2nd floor of No. 137 Chengdu North Road, he did not find the actual office space of the company.

It's not the same as CITY SUPER
