In order to popularize the knowledge of marine biology and ecological environmental protection, and stimulate the interest of young people in the jurisdiction to love nature and explore science, the New Era Civilization Practice Station of Changying Community, together with the Community Women's Federation and the Community Trade Union Federation, carried out the theme activity of "Exploring 20,000 Miles Under the Sea and Building the Dream of a Strong Country with Science and Technology", which attracted 15 pairs of parent-child families to participate.
First of all, the union volunteers used vivid pictures and videos as a starting point to show the children the diverse living environment of marine life, so that the children could understand that different marine organisms have different adaptation requirements to environmental factors such as water temperature and water depth, and the interdependence of marine organisms and their importance to maintaining the ecological balance of the ocean. Then, in easy-to-understand language, the volunteers explained to the children how the ocean purifies pollutants and maintains its ecological balance through natural processes such as biodegradation and water movement. Through learning, the children expressed that they should cherish the amazing ability of the ocean and not discharge garbage and sewage into the ocean at will.
In the Ocean Guardian session, volunteers guided everyone to use their brains to think about how to protect the ocean. The children spoke enthusiastically, talking about the potential threat of marine pollution to human health, and proposed ways to reduce marine pollution, such as garbage classification, reducing the use of plastics, and promoting environmentally friendly and clean technologies, showing strong environmental awareness and action.
The link of science and technology power pushed the children's imagination to a climax. The children imagined the underwater life of human beings in the future, and described the underwater world full of science and technology. Some children envision transparent cities under the sea, using solar and ocean energy to power their lives, while others imagine exploring the ocean floor in submersibles and encountering marine life. These childlike ideas not only show the children's love for the ocean, but also reflect their expectations for the development of science and technology.
Finally, under the guidance of the volunteers, the children used their imagination to make beautiful ocean wishing bottles using glass bottles and SpongeBob SquarePants. The children wrote their blessings to the ocean and their determination to protect the ocean on the bottle, placing their good wishes in this blue star field.
This activity not only enhanced the children's understanding of the ocean and their awareness of conservation, but also stimulated their enthusiasm for exploring the unknown and pursuing science. I believe that in the future, these little ocean guardians will use their actions to contribute to the protection of the beautiful ocean and the construction of a scientific and technological power.
