On April 15, today's Chery Xingtu brand officially opened the pre-sale of the new model "Star Era ET".
The car is based on Chery's E0X global high-performance electric vehicle platform to build, providing two series of options of range extender and pure electric, equipped with 800V architecture CATL power battery, which can be said to be very interesting, but the focus of car enthusiasts for a new model is not all vehicle drive platform or power battery type, because the technical homogenization of electric drive vehicles is visible to the naked eye, and there is no great difference in the same level of automotive products, so the price has become the key to determining the future of the vehicle。
However, Star Era ET did not announce the pre-sale price, and such a pre-sale plan is rare.
Interpretation of vehicle characteristics
Epoch ET has confirmed the type of drive platform of the pure electric series, the single-motor version chooses the rear-wheel drive layout, which is the most common drive scheme for mid-to-high-end electric vehicles, and the reason for choosing the rear-wheel drive is that it has a delicate driving experience beyond the front-wheel drive, followed by a dual-motor four-wheel drive version, the power of the rear motor is the same as the single-motor version, which is 230kW, and a front-mounted 123kW motor is added, with a total power of 363kW.
There is no need to worry about the performance of both series, the 230kW single motor is also equivalent to the level of a 2.3T-2.4T turbocharged engine, and the electric motor has a stronger low-torque explosive force, so the acceleration experience will be ideal enough. The four-wheel drive version should be able to accelerate to 100 km/h in 5 seconds (the actual standard), and its overall level can be on par with the M7 or the ideal L6.
The extended-range version is currently only available as a SQRH4J15B 1.5-liter turbocharged engine for hybrid vehicles with a maximum output of 115 kW, while the model and layout of the electric motor have not yet been confirmed, and it is expected to use the same drive scheme as the all-electric version.
The pure electric range of the extended-range version has not yet been confirmed, and some versions of the pure electric series that have been confirmed, such as the rear-wheel drive low-end version reaching 625 kilometers, the high-end version reaching 760 kilometers, and the four-wheel drive version is believed to also have a long-range version.
Potential competitors
The body size of the Star Era ET is 4955*1975*1698 mm, the wheelbase is 3000 mm, which belongs to the medium and large SUV; This car is the highest-selling plug-in range extender SUV at this stage, so the pricing of the Epoch ET range extender version must refer to this car.
Ideal L6 is also a new model to be launched, the car uses a full range of four-wheel drive extended range hybrid platform, using 1.5T range extender, the overall level is comparable to the M7 four-wheel drive version; although the car has not yet determined the pre-sale price, but the information released by the ideal brand has determined that the price of the car will be in the price range of 25-300,000 yuan. Then the price of this car may be lower than the M7 four-wheel drive version, and there will inevitably be a fierce battle for share.
The author believes that the Epoch ET has not determined the pre-sale price at present, and it is also waiting to see the pricing strategy of the ideal L6, and whether there will be a response plan for the M7 in the future;
The first car of the Star Era series is the medium and large sedan Star Era ES, whose initial guide price is 235,800-339,800 yuan, and then the entry version of 198,800 yuan is added, and the first series also has a discount of 20,000 yuan; Therefore, the pricing of the Epoch ET needs to be cautious enough, and I believe that it will eventually give a price that can satisfy most car consumers.
