BYD's sub-brand Formula Leopard Automobile officially announced that the Leopard 8 will be unveiled at the spring conference on April 16. The new car is built on the same DMO super hybrid off-road platform as the Leopard 5, equipped with an intelligent hybrid four-wheel drive system, and is also equipped with the Yunnan-P active hydraulic suspension system and front and rear differential locks + electric locks (three locks). The salesman revealed that the Leopard 8 can choose 6 or 7 seats, and it is expected to sell for 400,000-600,000 yuan.

The Leopard 8 continues the SUPER 8 (concept) design, with a black square grille with a continuous light strip connected to the LED light clusters on both sides, a blacked-out bumper surround, fog lamps connected to the front wheel eyebrows, hidden door handles, surround view cameras, electric pedals, privacy glass and multi-spoke wheels, and a large rear trim plate wrapped around the external spare wheel.

The interior of the car is basically the same as that of the Leopard 5, with a large area of leather coating and through-type center console design, and is expected to be equipped with a 12.3-inch LCD instrument + 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen, dual mobile phone wireless charging pads, four-spoke steering wheel, co-driver entertainment screen, AR-HUD head-up display, physical function buttons, cold and warm refrigerators, trunk electric suction doors and other configurations.

The Leopard 8 is equipped with a longitudinal high-power engine + dedicated CTC battery + dedicated off-road rear-wheel drive assembly, integrated electronic differential lock, low-speed off-road gear can achieve a maximum speed ratio of 21, and the peak power of the rear motor is 285kW and the peak torque is 400N·m. It is reported that the new car will also have a suspension adjustment stroke of up to 140mm, as well as 6kW vehicle-to-vehicle charging and 20kW in-situ charging functions.
