When receiving such a text message, it is easy to be confused at first glance, and it is easy to click on the link to see which section of the road is illegal

After clicking on the link, it pops up as a "traffic violation inquiry platform", if you enter your name, ID card information, mobile phone number, and set a password as required, pay attention!

After entering the information, the victim will also be guided to download the App, note! This is an App with a Trojan virus! It can steal personal information from the mobile phone, and even intercept the verification code received by the mobile phone, so as to transfer the funds of the bank card tied to the mobile phone

Real-world examples

Mr. Zhang, who lives in Zhuhai, Guangdong, once received such a traffic violation reminder text message, he clicked on the link in the text message, and found that the webpage said "Traffic Violation Inquiry Platform", and the content looked very formal, so he filled in personal information, bank card information and mobile phone verification code. After the operation was over, the system showed that he would have to wait for two or three minutes to see the results, and Mr. Zhang exited the webpage. It didn't take long for him to receive a deduction message from the bank, and he was defrauded of a total of 8,500 yuan.

Deception routines

Step 1

Send a "phishing" link. Criminals send fraudulent text messages about "traffic violations" to the victims, and attach a link to the website of the fake "traffic violation inquiry platform" in the text messages.

Step 2

Obtain the card number and password. Once the victim receives such a traffic violation reminder, once the link is clicked into the fake website, the scammer will further induce the victim to fill in personal information such as ID card number and bank card number, so as to achieve fraud.

Step 3

Implantation of viruses. There is also a more "straightforward" routine, the URL link attached to the scammer's text message is directly a Trojan virus, once the link is clicked, it will cause the mobile phone to be "hacked", and the scammer will further carry out theft.

How to confirm whether it is a fraudulent text message? Log in to the "Traffic Management 12123" APP to distinguish the authenticity

1. No illegal information was found

If no illegal records are found, it is very likely that you have received a fraudulent text message.

2. Illegal information is queried

If you find an illegal record, check whether the illegal photo license plate is consistent with your vehicle license plate.

If the license plate on the illegal photo is consistent with your vehicle license plate and your vehicle has never driven on this road section, it is very likely that your car has been faked, and you should contact the traffic police department of the place where the vehicle is registered for processing.

If the license plate on the illegal photo is inconsistent with the license plate of your vehicle, you can appeal the violation on the "Traffic Management 12123" APP, and wait for the staff to review and revoke the violation.
