Mark Williams defeated O'Sullivan 10-5 to secure his 41st ranking final, having won 25 of his previous 40 ranking finals. After winning the British Open in September, he won multiple rankings in the same season for the first time since 2017/18. The success of that Open made him the oldest ranking champion other than 50-year-old Ray Rearton, so having turned 49 last month, he is closer to Reardon's record today, with Williams moving up to sixth in the world rankings.
