Williams, the younger brother of Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams, averaged 11.9 points, 3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 24 games for the Buffaloes in his freshman season, and was named to the Pac-12 League's Rookie of the Year team, shooting 55.2 percent from the field, 59 percent from two-point range and 42 percent from three-point range, but less than two shots per game.
