BlackBerry's fourth-quarter revenue was $173 million, and IoT revenue was $66 million, up 25% year-over-year

IT Home reported on April 6 that BlackBerry's revenue in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2024 was $173 million (IT Home note: about 1.253 billion yuan currently), exceeding analysts' expectations of $154.2 million.

BlackBerry reported a GAAP net loss of $56 million versus an estimate of $17.502 million, and fourth-quarter IoT segment revenue of $66 million increased 25% year-over-year and 20% sequentially, with a strong gross margin of 85% and a QNX royalty backlog of $815 million. Cybersecurity quarterly revenue exceeded expectations of $92 million, up 5% year-over-year, and annual recurring revenue increased 3% sequentially to $280 million. Licensing revenue was $15 million, while operating expenses decreased to $113 million.

BlackBerry expects revenue of $130 million to $138 million for the fiscal first quarter of this year, and $48 million to $52 million for the first quarter of fiscal year, and BlackBerry expects total revenue in the range of $586 million to $616 million for fiscal 2025, with adjusted EBITDA breaking even to more than $10 million.
