A few days ago, we photographed the new Cadillac CT5 luxury real car (hereinafter referred to as the new CT5) at the dealership. The new CT5 series was launched at the end of December last year as a mid-life facelift of the current CT5. In February this year, Cadillac announced that the terminal price of the new CT5 luxury model was 219,700 yuan, which was 70,000 yuan lower than the guide price.

From the perspective of the design principle of the appearance, Cadillac did not adopt a differentiated appearance treatment with a higher configuration gradient model on this entry-level model, and continued to provide 18-inch aluminum alloy rims, 245/45 R18 tires, and a total of two exhausts on both sides. If you want a little more sportiness, you can opt for a model with the V Sport package, although depending on the Cadillac model setup, the V Sport package is only available on the second-top "Prestige" and top-of-the-line "Platinum".
Based on the configuration, the new CT5 "Deluxe" reduces the wireless charging of mobile phones, leather seats, lumbar adjustment of the main driver's seat, front seat heating, 16-speaker AKG audio, turn assist lights, 126-color interior atmosphere lights, matrix LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, etc., with a guide price difference of 10,000 yuan. Combined with the configuration and the price difference of 10,000 yuan, the "luxury Pro" with a higher configuration gradient has higher richness, and it may be more recommended than the "luxury".
The new CT5 continues to be equipped with a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 174 kW and a peak torque of 350 Nm, and the power parameters are the same as those of the old model. The drivetrain is mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. All models are rear-wheel drive, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h. In addition, the adjustable soft and hard electromagnetic suspension, mechanical limited-slip differential and BREMBO four-piston front brake calipers are only standard on the Premium and Platinum models, which are not available on the actual model.
From the perspective of the Cadillac brand, the preferential price of the new CT5 luxury terminal has been on par with the guide price of the entry-level version of the new CT4. Even similar to the guide price of the mid-to-high-end version of the mainstream joint venture mid-size cars of non-luxury brands such as Magotan, Passat, Camry, and Accord, the preferential strength of the Cadillac brand to join the current "price war" in the auto market can be seen.
Based on the guide price, the price of the entry version announced at the launch of the new CT5 is the same as that of the old model, but in fact, because the new CT5 cancels the entry version of the old version of the fashion type, and adjusts the luxury model positioned above the fashion type of the old model to the entry version, the new CT5 provides a model with a higher configuration gradient on the premise of keeping the price of the entry version unchanged, which may be understood as a disguised price reduction.
Combined with sales data, the retail sales of the Cadillac CT5 in February this year were 3,921 units, which was the highest-selling model of the Cadillac brand in that month. So in the mid-size camp of sport-oriented luxury brands, will you choose the new CT5 with its competitive price, or the BMW 3 Series in the "BBA" camp?
