Huaishan industry is the dominant industry of Jiaoxi Village. It is understood that the planting rotation area of Huaishan in Jiaoxi Village is about 450 acres. Driven by the demonstration of the main body of business, more than 600 farmers from more than 200 households in Jiaoxi Village are currently engaged in Huaishan industry, driving farmers to increase their per capita income by more than 2,000 yuan, and the income level of farmers has been greatly improved.

The annual yield per mu of Huaishan can reach more than 2,200 catties, and the income per mu is about 20,000 yuan. ”

Wu Zhibin, chairman of the Huaishan Planting Professional Cooperative of Fengsheng Hot Spring in Jiaoxi Village, said that an important factor in the healthy development of the Huaishan industry in the village is to adopt the "group" development model.
He introduced that in 2014, the village established the Dehua County Fengsheng Hot Spring Huaishan Planting Farmers Professional Cooperative, which carried out Huaishan planting and sales through the company + farmers. At present, the cooperative has 106 members, which can provide technical training, consultation and guidance, information services, product purchase and sales and other services for members. At the same time, it also drove and guided more than 200 growers to carry out standardized, large-scale and scientific planting, and everyone worked together to promote the quality improvement of Huaishan, and gradually realized the regional layout, standardized management and market-oriented operation of Huaishan industry. In 2019, the cooperative was also awarded the title of "Provincial Demonstration Society".
It is reported that the Dehua County Fengsheng Hot Spring Huaishan Planting Farmers Cooperative can sell more than 700 tons of Huaishan for the members of the cooperative every year. The average purchase price of the cooperative is about 10 yuan per kilogram, which is 60% higher than before the establishment of the cooperative, and the purchase price alone can increase the income of local Huaishan growers by nearly 10 million yuan.
"In the past, Huaishan was planted by ourselves piecemeal, and the planting scale was small, the yield was low, and the economic benefits were not high. But since joining the village cooperative, with the support of the government, there are also large planters, planting experts and technicians to take us to plant and help each other. At the same time, the quality of the Huaishan Mountain planted is better, and the price is higher. Chen Rongrui, a grower, looked at his Huaishan land and was very satisfied with the current Huaishan industrial environment in the village.
Deep processing increases added value
After being awarded the 2023 provincial "One Village, One Product" (Huaishan) Professional Village, Jiaoxi Village has more plans and expectations for the development of Huaishan industry in the village.
It is understood that at present, the Huaishan industry in Jiaoxi Village is mainly based on primary rough processing, and the added value of the products is low. How to improve the economic benefits of the industry and obtain more economic benefits for the villagers?
In order to solve this problem, on the one hand, the village actively expands its ideas, contacts with technical and scientific research units such as the municipal and county agricultural science institutes, and guides the members with processing experience to test and develop deep-processed products such as Huaishan noodles, Huaishan pumpkin crisps, Huaishan potato chips, Huaishan cakes, and Huaishan potato fries. On the other hand, it adopts the mechanism mode of going out and inviting in, organizes members to cooperate in Quanzhou, Xiamen, Fuzhou and other places to open 8 Huaishan product experience stores, actively participates in product exhibitions and order fairs, and holds the Dehua Leifeng Jiaoxi Huaishan Food Festival for many times, realizing the integrated and sustainable development of production, research and marketing, and exploring a new way for the further sustainable and scientific development of Huaishan industry in the future.
