Apple's iOS 18 compatible models exposed: iPhone XR and above A12 phones only

IT Home reported on February 27 that MacRumors obtained a list of compatible devices for iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, and the source has a good record of breaking the news in terms of the build number of Apple products.

Apple's iOS 18 will be compatible with the following iPhone models, according to the leaks:

iPhone 13

iPhone 13 mini

iPhone 13 Pro

iPhone 13 Pro Max

iPhone 12

iPhone 12 mini

iPhone 12 Pro

iPhone 12 Pro Max

iPhone 11

iPhone 11 Pro

iPhone 11 Pro Max

iPhone XS

iPhone XS Max

iPhone XR

iPhone SE（第 3 代）

iPadOS 18 will no longer support iPad models with the A10X Fusion chip relative to iOS 18, which means iPadOS 18 will be compatible with the following iPad models:

iPad Pro: 2018 and newer

iPad Air: 2019 and newer

iPad mini: 2019 and later

iPad: 2020 and newer

This means that iPadOS 18 will no longer be compatible with iPad Pro 10.5 or the second-generation iPad Pro 12.9 models released in 2017, as well as regular A10 Fusion models like the sixth- and seventh-generation iPads.

If nothing else, Apple will officially bring iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 to WWDC in June, and will be pushed to all compatible devices in September.

So far, most of the relevant revelations have focused on AI, such as Bloomberg's claim that iOS 18 will provide new generative AI capabilities for Siri and introduce RCS support for iMessages.
