According to the latest sales data, in April, BYD's passenger car sales reached 312048, a year-on-year increase of 49%, continuing to maintain a hot sales momentum. Among them, the export sales of passenger cars were 41,011 units, a year-on-year increase of 176.6%, a record high.

In the first quarter of this year, China's exports of new energy vehicles reached 307,000 units, up 23.8% year-on-year. In the current quarter, BYD exported 99,000 units, which also means that for every three new energy vehicles exported in China, one is BYD.

It is worth mentioning that in 2023, BYD's overseas sales of new energy passenger vehicles will exceed 240,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 337%, becoming the Chinese brand with the largest exports of new energy vehicles in 2023.

Behind the surge in export volume is BYD's continued hot sales overseas. At present, BYD's new energy vehicle footprint has spread to more than 83 countries and regions around the world, more than 400 cities, covering Germany, Japan and other automotive powerhouse markets, as well as emerging markets such as Thailand and Brazil, and has continuously won the monthly sales champion of new energy vehicles in many countries. Not long ago, English footballer Manchester City defender Kyle Walker also became the experience officer of BYD's SEAL (seal) model, and praised BYD on social platforms.

"Breaking the circle" overseas, BYD's "secret recipe" lies in accumulation.

BYD has more than 100,000 engineers and 11 research institutes, with a cumulative R&D investment of more than 100 billion yuan, and has applied for more than 48,000 patents. and the demand for full-scene vehicles, so that every user can enjoy green travel, and at the same time, they also work together to build BYD's technical moat.

At the same time, after more than 20 years of new energy layout, BYD has gradually formed a vertically integrated supply chain, which makes BYD the only car company in the world that has mastered the core technologies of the whole industry chain of new energy vehicles such as batteries, motors, and electronic controls. It is also with its strong cost control ability that BYD can resist round after round of price changes in the market.

Of course, BYD's "ambitions" are not limited to exports.

Not long ago, BYD announced plans to build a factory on the Indonesian island of West Java, which is scheduled to break ground in July. This will be BYD's fifth car plant outside of China, after Thailand, Uzbekistan, Brazil and Hungary. This global layout not only demonstrates BYD's ambitions, but also reflects its deep insight and firm confidence in the global electric vehicle market.

At the same time, BYD's new energy pickup truck BYD SHARK will make its world debut in Mexico on May 14. This action also released multiple signals. First of all, BYD is going to make a pickup truck seriously and "welcome" the Tesla Cybertruck; Secondly, BYD should make every effort to accelerate the global layout of products, and more new models may be launched in overseas markets in the future, so that Chinese brands can "go out" and "light up", and it is not difficult to see BYD's next strategic plan.

It is understood that BYD SHARK is based on the DMO platform and is expected to provide plug-in hybrid and pure electric power systems. In addition, it is expected to be equipped with a hydraulic active suspension system, streaming media rearview mirror and other functions, and support 6 kW external discharge, 20 kW in-situ power supply, V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) power rescue and other functions (subject to official announcement).

It can be said that today's BYD's "king appearance" has been shown - domestic sales are far ahead of joint venture brands, and overseas sales continue to soar.
