The director of "Ice Hunting" issued a long article revealing the reason why Yao Anna was selected to play the heroine: there is no trace of performance training, especially no plastic surgery

Recently, the web drama "Ice Hunting" starring Yao Anna and Zhang Songwen was launched. Yao Anna played the heroine for the first time, and her acting skills and appearance caused heated discussions.

On February 22, after denying Huawei's investment, the director of the play, Gao Qunshu, posted a long post in response to the filming story of "Ice Hunting" again, saying that "all regrets, the responsibility lies with me", and also revealed the reason for choosing Yao Anna to play the heroine: "I like to use non-professional actors who have not received any acting training. Yao Anna is very simple, without any traces of acting training, and her image and temperament are also very similar to a fledgling female policeman. In particular, there has been no plastic surgery. ”

Yesterday afternoon, I went to chat with Songwen, and he said a story about "Ice Hunting" made up by a certain self-media. It's bizarre.

I've read some of the reviews, and so it is.

It is necessary to tell the ins and outs of "Ice Hunting".

The origin of "Ice Hunting" is that seven or eight years ago, Dalong (Ice Hunting investor) asked me to do an anti-drug play, and the idea was very good, so I agreed.

Next, I started to make the script, and the screenwriter was set before, and after two or three years, I was not satisfied with several drafts.

At this time, Guo Guosong, a former legal reporter of Southern Weekly, sent me a script, Mr. Guo learned to write a script for the first time, there was no routine, the script was very rough, but it was better because of the good texture and truthfulness.

I persuaded Dalong to buy it and do this. Dalong agreed.

The problem with this script is that there is no police line, and obviously, this is not passable. I asked Mr. Guo to join the police to solve the case, but Mr. Guo said that he couldn't write. I told Da Long, I'll find another screenwriter to write the police line.

This is a cat-and-mouse game, you can't just have mice, no cats.

I asked Gao Han, a young director I was working with at the time, to write about the police line, and together we agreed to write a police group dominated by a young female policeman who was reckless, not stunned, and had no experience in handling cases, but who had been a soldier, received reconnaissance training, and had a persistent spirit of bravely going to the end of the world.

After the script came out, I felt that it was very smooth and I read it in one go.

Dalong showed it to various platforms, and they all replied that the script was not good enough and must be improved.

But the screenwriter can't change it. If you change it again, you can only change the screenwriter, and that's another amount of money. I told Dalong that I wouldn't change it.

Let's make a low-cost account-sharing drama that uses all non-professional actors.

After setting a plan, a group message was sent to solicit non-professional actors with Fujian, Guangdong, and Guangxi accents.

Applicants gathered.

In the process of selecting actors, there are many male actors, but they are not professional, and there are very few actresses who meet the requirements of the three accents.

At this time, a producer friend spread the word that Zhang Songwen liked this role and wanted to cooperate with me.

I have only watched Songwen's "A Cloud Made of Rain in the Wind" and "Revolutionary", and I especially like "Revolutionary", I like both the director and Zhang Songwen.

I met with Songwen and chatted very speculatively.

At that time, Songwen was not yet like this, and "Revolutionary" was a good movie, but the box office did not meet expectations.

We just want to make a good show.

Because of this, the production direction has changed back to using actors, but not big names.

One day, the studio kid brought me a photo and said that this person was quite suitable for playing a policewoman.

This person is Yao Anna, but I don't know who she is or where she comes from.

The child said that Ren Zhengfei was the daughter, who graduated from Harvard and could sing. I asked if he had acted? The kid said he hadn't.

I was immediately interested.

I like to use non-professional actors who don't have any acting training.

To a certain extent, I am very reluctant to take acting classes for four years and learn from the academy graduates who have a problem.

In 1995, I used Shanxi farmers to shoot a two-episode TV series "Golden Pea" for CCTV, which won the second prize of the Feitian Award, and was recognized by the industry for the first time as a director.

Later, in 2007, he filmed "A Thousand Shots", starring Ma Guowei, deputy director of a police station outside Harbin, and won the Best Actor at the Shanghai International Film Festival.

In 2012, I filmed "Detective Hunter Zhang", all the leading actors are friends who usually drink with me, professional actors Qi Xi, and Wang Ou just played passers-by. The film won the Golden Horse Award for Best Film.

These have contributed to my confidence and habit of working as a non-professional actor.

So, I met with Yao Anna.

Yao Anna is very simple, without any traces of acting training, and her image and temperament are also very similar to a fledgling female policeman.

In particular, there has been no plastic surgery.

That's it.

It's as simple as that.

I am very grateful to Tencent for tolerating my willfulness.

For me, the original intention of this play is to help young directors, so I am the chief director.

When I chatted with Songwen, I also said that I might not be able to follow the whole process.

But when it came to the actual shooting, I couldn't go away with all kinds of practical problems, so I had to shoot the whole process in person.

The investment in this play is less than 40 million.

A new model of cooperation has also been adopted. I enjoyed the challenge.

How poor is this group? I live in a hotel for 100 yuan a day, and the car is my own, and none of the actors in the group have an RV.

The crew lived in a hotel for dozens of dollars.

A table of prop dishes, the script is written about the luxurious feast of Southeast Asian drug lords entertaining distinguished guests, and the cheap small seafood bought in the Hainan seaside market prepared by props.

There is also a table of river fish feast, and the props are prepared with small seafood bought at the seaside market.

There is also a big banquet for Huang Zongwei to go back to his hometown to invite the villagers, which was filmed in the ancient village more than two hours away from the city.

Guns, only two really.

Beer, forever only Cordon Bleu, not implanted.

Foreign wine, only a few bottles.

XO one bottle, Royal Salyut 21 one bottle, and a couple more.

Filming overseas dramas, the script has been written by PAX for 30 years, but fortunately, a wine label was printed, which was the only time I was pleasantly surprised.

The police have a few broken cars, except for the props master and Su Xin, no one else can drive...

And so on and so forth. The degree of distress will not be detailed.

Photography, art, modeling, all the main creators are newcomers who have never filmed a big drama.

Because of the low budget.

It seems to have returned to the nineties when I first debuted and filmed "Thirteen Murders".

It's exciting, enjoyable and challenging.

Everyone was also very excited.

Su Xin, who played the policeman, didn't ask for an honorarium (after filming, he gave a red envelope and said that he didn't want anything).

The honorarium of the others is also pitiful, and I have invited them by brushing their faces.

I just want to make a play that has no money, and may not be particular in all aspects, but it is very good-looking...

This was during the pandemic.

During the filming process, I asked each actor to go to the scene to observe and experience the performance of Mr. Songwen and other teachers without notice.

I specially found retired coaches from the Secret Service to train Yao Anna, Su Xin, and Peng Yuyu, and asked the coach to train like a squad leader for recruits who had just enlisted, eight hours a day, from standing upright, saluting, holding guns, searching and other basic actions.

When Yao Anna was filming and arresting drug dealers, the professional male stand-in did not run over her, and all the actions were done by herself.

All the cast and staff have not complained or complained.

It took 12 points of effort.

After 55 days, after the filming was completed, I followed the whole journey, driving more than two hours to the scene every day.

On the day of the finale, the epidemic ended.

Because of the tight time, because of the tight funds, it has caused a lot of regrets.

If you can write the police drama better...

If only I could have a little more time to polish the new actors...

There is no actor who can't be tuned, and it takes time and more methods.

"Thirteen Murders" is also low-cost, but it took four months to shoot.

When filming film and television dramas, time is a very important and critical factor.

All the regrets, the responsibility is on me.

As a veteran director, why do you want to do this?

First, in order to support young directors.

Second, in order to return Dalong to an agreement.

Third, in order to prove that you can make a good show with little money.

It's as simple as that.

For so many years, I have resisted capital control, so I have done low-cost dramas.

So far, I haven't filmed a wide scene. But it is as low as "Ice Hunting", and it is the first time in more than 20 years.

What I didn't expect was that this play was actually said to be bought by capital.

What's even more ridiculous is that Songwen and I were said to have taken Huawei's big red envelope.

Fortunately, now "Ice Hunting" is enjoyed by most unbiased viewers.

Such a low-cost little broken drama can be broadcast with such popularity, which has exceeded everyone's expectations.

Thank you for the ode. Thank you to all the actors. Thank you to all the staff. Thanks Tencent Video. Thank you to the audience.
