There are a lot of Autobots who have joined the Transformers series, but unfortunately, many of these Autobots' potential has been overshadowed by the movies and failed to contribute to the depth and entertainment of the story.
The series revolves around the Autobots, alien robots capable of transforming into vehicles and machines, who come from distant aliens but defend Earth and humanity for a common home. Under the leadership of Optimus Prime, iconic Autobots such as Bumblebee, Ironhide, and Ambulances engage in a relentless battle against their sworn enemy, the Decepticons.
However, despite the Autobots' combat abilities and advanced technology, many of the Autobots' powers and qualities are actually not developed in the movie, and if the movie had given them more time or a better storyline, these qualities could have enhanced the viewer's experience.
These memorable Autobots, including characters such as Jazz, Skyfire, and Dinosaur Troop, are examples of wasted images of their potential being underutilized and unexplored before they leave the show, which means the film misses out on their opportunity to engage audiences.
Let's take a look at these missed characters, and hopefully one day the series will be able to rediscover their value.
sway
Swing made his debut in Michael Bay's film Transformers 2, and as a member of the Optimus Prime team, he has a chilling power ability that is not used in the movie. Swing could have incapacitated enemies by converting electricity into directional explosions, and he could have made a huge contribution in the main combat scenario, winning for the Autobots with his unique skills.
However, the film ignores this potential, and his talent is not fully utilized. This role was minimized, and his advanced technology became an overlooked asset.
jack
The jack who appears in Transformers: When the Moon Darks is an Autobot scientist and inventor who dies violently at the end.
A longtime friend of Bumblebee, he is eager to use his expertise to provide the Autobots with vital weapons and equipment. Jack has the skills to tackle any mechanical or technical challenge, and he has great potential to contribute to the cause of autobots.
However, instead of showcasing these talents, the film relegates the jack to a brutal execution scene where he is mercilessly shot. Although The Moonlight had a good ending, Jack's accidental death was a big failure for fans, as his abilities and influence could have attracted a larger audience.
Robot dinosaurs
"Transformers: Reborn from Extinction" gives viewers a glimpse of the robot dinosaur troops, a group of Autobots with great combat abilities, but they are also heavily underestimated in the movie. Although the film finally brought the fan-favorite robotic dinosaurs to the screen, to the surprise of the audience, the dinosaur troops only appeared briefly in the climactic battle, and were forced into battle by Optimus Prime.
If the dinosaur troops had had more time and better integrated into the storyline, these popular dinosaur warriors could have brought their powers to an earlier confrontation, and with their size and ferocity, they could have turned the tide of battle for the Autobots.
Unfortunately, the appearance of these legendary warriors is basically a cameo, and there is no opportunity to show their fighting prowess in the original book, as well as their emotional restlessness.

Skyfire made his debut in Fallen Kong, and he was a compelling character: a weather-beaten Decepticon who turned into an Autobot years later. His vast experience proved invaluable in the Autobots' battle with the Fallen, and he guided Sam Wittwick to Tinder and fight the Decepticons. Eventually, Skyfire sacrificed himself and gave his powerful aerial parts to Optimus Prime in a pivotal duel.
However, the film doesn't take full advantage of Skyfire's expertise and strategic insight. The Autobots didn't take full advantage of his powerful skills, but abandoned him after he helped, which is really hard to accept.
ambulance
The loyal Autobot Ambulance made its debut in the 2007 film Transformers as the team's allied medics. He consistently used his medical skills to help his wounded allies, and showed unwavering bravery to refuse to reveal Optimus Prime's location to death.
Tragically, the ambulance was killed by the confinement in Rebirth, which also sparked the ire of fans who valued his loyalty to the Autobots and humanity.
Of the original movie roles, only Optimus Prime and Bumblebee now outlive him. The tragic death of the ambulance was a big disappointment for those viewers who hoped the Autobot man would do more.
Arcie
Arsie, a rare combination of Autobots who debuted in Fallen Kong, was wasted by the film in several ways. She appears as a trio of three motorcycle bodies sharing a mind, which is a novelty, but the film quickly ignores the interesting potential to develop this novel concept. The concept was deactivated after Arcie was ambushed in the desert and two of the motorcycles were possibly blown up.
Since Arcie represents the only female Autobot on screen, her death means the loss of an inclusive perspective. Aside from the superficial formality, Arcie is grossly underrated, and the film could have used her to highlight the Autobots' creative abilities or provide a more diverse representation of the Transformers.
Tin
From the very beginning of the live-action Transformers series, Ironhide has earned his status alongside Optimus Prime with his black GMC Topkick bodywork, reflecting his status as a seasoned warrior. Armed with powerful artillery, he fought against the Decepticons during his long service.
However, his death in When the Moon Darks is not in combat, but because of the sudden betrayal of the Sentinel Main.
Ironskin, despite his experience, underestimated the deception of his new allies. It's a shame to see such a loyal Autobot being wasted and replaced by a more humble character. Ironhide's tragic end is heart-wrenching because he blindly trusts the traitor who ended his life.
Sir
Jazz from Transformers appears in a flashy way, showcasing his unique style that is still endearing despite his small stature. Unfortunately, when he faced Megatron alone, his glory came to an abrupt end. Although he was brave and resourceful, he was unable to resist Megatron's power and was torn to shreds.
The Jazz should have more time to show his skills before his early death. The Transformers franchise ended Jazz's story too early, once again making fans who love the character miss an opportunity.
Many of the Autobot characters in the movies are underutilized, and their potential and talents are wasted. Not only did this disappoint audiences, but it also missed out on the opportunity to tell a good story and create a more interesting and engaging cinematic experience. It is hoped that future "Transformers" movies will be closer to the original book and make better use of these iconic characters that the audience loves, bringing more exciting stories and more memorable character development to the audience.
