Among them, Geely Automobile's new energy vehicle sales in January were 65,800 units, a year-on-year increase of 590.8%, also a record high, pure electric vehicle sales were 36,300 units, a year-on-year increase of 306%, and plug-in hybrid vehicle sales were 29,500 units, a year-on-year increase of 4,919%.
Specifically, the Geely brand (including Geometry) sold 172,800 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 98%. Among them, Geely Galaxy, a new energy series launched last year, sold 19,200 vehicles, an increase of more than 59% month-on-month. The cumulative sales of the Galaxy officially exceeded 100,000 units in the eight months of its launch, and on January 5, the first pure electric sedan Geely Galaxy E8 was also launched.
In addition, the "China Star" series sold 47,500 units, a year-on-year increase of more than 124% and a month-on-month increase of more than 73%, setting a new record high. Up to now, the cumulative sales of the "China Star" series have exceeded 920,000 units. On January 3, Geely Boyue COOL Friend Edition and Geely Haoyue PRO were listed successively, with prices starting at 89,800 yuan and 86,900 yuan respectively, and the former is equipped with Snapdragon 8155 chips as standard.
The high-end pure electric brand Zeekr sold 12,500 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 302%. The ZEEKR 007, which was launched at the end of last year, delivered 5,853 units in January. In January, the 2024 ZEEKR X was launched, with upgrades to driving control, intelligence, configuration and design, with an official guide price of 200,000 yuan, and ZEEKR 009 also ushered in a comprehensive upgrade of product power, with a price starting at 500,000 yuan.
Geely Automobile's Lynk & Co brand, a joint venture between Volvo, sold 28,200 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 155%. Lynk & Co new energy sales, represented by the Lynk & Co EM-P family, reached 12,600 units. At the same time, classic products such as Lynk & Co 03 and Lynk & Co 06 are also on sale. On January 16, Lynk & Co's new 09 EM-P was listed, with an equity price of 297,800 yuan, and will compete head-to-head with Wenjie M7 and Ideal L7/L8.
In overseas markets, Geely Automobile exported 26,300 vehicles in January, up 79% year-on-year. On January 15, Geely's global model, Geely Coolray, was officially launched in Egypt. At the same time, Geely's Auto Mobility flagship store in Egypt was announced, marking a new stage in the development of the Geely brand in Egypt.
In the East Asian and Southeast Asian markets, after landing in Singapore, ZEEKR officially launched its listing in Macau on January 13, accelerating the development of the international right-hand drive car market. Proton vehicles sold 15,300 vehicles in January, up 16% year-on-year. In addition, at the CES 2024 exhibition held in Las Vegas in January, ZEEKR also appeared with Valeo to lead the wave of electrification and intelligent transformation.
On January 11, Geely officially released the full-stack self-developed Geely Xingrui AI large model, realizing the large-scale mass production of AI native applications, and empowering car manufacturing with large-scale model technology. At the same time, ZEEKR announced that it will co-create the next generation of intelligent cockpit "mobile living space" plan with Intel to bring epoch-making smart car products to users around the world, and NVIDIA also announced that ZEEKR has become the world premiere brand of its next-generation centralized in-vehicle computing platform NVIDIA DRIVE Orin, and the NVIDIA DRIVE™ Thor™ superchip will be the first to ride in ZEEKR's new car in 2025.
According to Geely's disclosed target, Geely plans to sell 1.9 million vehicles in 2024, an increase of 12.6% over the actual sales in 2023. Through the performance in January this year, Geely Automobile has achieved 1/9 of its annual target.
