In 2013, he began to devote all his energy to calligraphy research, calligraphy teaching, calligraphy exchange, calligraphy management, etc. Master Zhang Qi began to learn traditional Chinese calligraphy from his grandfather at the age of six. In addition to following the ancient method, he also studied under modern calligraphy masters such as Liu Bingsen, Shen Peng, and Mei Chunan.

In calligraphy exchange activities and exhibitions at home and abroad, he has won many gold medals, and has been awarded many honorary titles: Artist of Virtue and Art, Outstanding Artist of the Republic, National First-class Calligrapher, National Rite Calligraphy Artist and so on!

He has successively carried out calligraphy exchange activities in South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan and other countries. In 2018, in the Sino-Thai cultural exchange activities, a calligraphy work by Master Zhang Qi was favored and collected by the Prime Minister of Thailand in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. One of Master Zhang Qi's calligraphy works, Chairman Mao's "Qinyuan Spring Snow", was hung in the Great Hall of the People in 2011 and was collected. Master Zhang Qi's current calligraphy is 80,000 yuan/square foot.
