A few decades ago, children had a home and a classroom, and there were very few "small glasses".
Today's children's homes and classrooms are brighter, but one out of two children is short-sighted. The myopia rate of high school students is more than 80%, and the high myopia rate of high school students is nearly 20%.
Because in the past, children had enough distance and sunshine.
Nowadays, children are more and more homely, staying at home in the classroom, doing more homework, and having more contact with mobile phones and tablets. There is less distance and less exposure to sunlight.
Myopia is not only a blur of vision, not only the need for optometry glasses, but also will affect children's learning, life, and future visual health, work, future, family and society.
Many parents see it as a flood beast, and they go to the doctor in a hurry, and they are friends with the sideways. And some parents turn a blind eye to myopia, thinking that they are just wearing a pair of glasses, and let it go.
Visionary, not short-sighted.
If you can often go out of the house, leave the classroom, go outdoors, soak up the sun, look into the distance, and have a vision, you will not be short-sighted, and it is not easy to be short-sighted.
If you have the scientific knowledge to protect your eyesight and prevent myopia, and have the foresight in this regard, you will stay away from some misunderstandings, will not fall into some traps, will not be short-sighted, and will not be short-sighted.
01
Myopia prevention and control
Quiz
Q1·
After myopia, can my vision return to the same as before?
No.
Once myopia occurs in the eye, it is manifested as an elongation of the eye axis, and there is currently no way to reverse it.
Q1·
Can looking at green plants protect your eyes?
No.
"Green" actually means getting in touch with nature and going outdoors more. How far away can we achieve the purpose of relaxing our eyes and preventing and controlling myopia.
Q1·
Should I get glasses after myopia?
Should.
It is necessary to go to a professional medical institution for examination, and after confirming myopia, follow the doctor's instructions to receive appropriate optical correction measures, and regularly recheck for 3 or 6 months.
02
Outdoor activities
Where to go?
Going out of the house, leaving the classroom, and being exposed to sunlight are all outdoor places that can effectively prevent myopia.
Window sills, balconies, terraces, community yards, roads, parks, etc., corridors outside classrooms, playgrounds, etc. Weather permitting, try to move indoor physical activity to the open playground.
03
Go outdoors
Is it an activity or a sport?
Exercise is about the place, the movement, and the intensity, and it is relatively difficult for children. Walking, running, cycling, kicking a ball, swinging, etc., in the natural light of the outdoors, can be considered outdoor activities.
04
Outdoor Activities (Play)
How long it takes
It is necessary to start from the early childhood stage, and the cumulative time should reach more than 2 hours a day. It can be half an hour at a time, going out for outdoor activities multiple times.
Whether it's sunny, cloudy, cloudy or rainy, when you want to go out during the daytime from the sun rises in the morning to the sun goes down in the evening, the brightness of the outdoor natural environment is significantly higher than that of the indoor environment.
A study on the myopia rate of 6-year-old children revealed that if the outdoor activity reaches 3 hours a day, the myopia rate of children is only 0.8%, if the outdoor activity time is only 1 hour a day, the myopia rate is 3%, and if the outdoor activity time is less than half an hour a day, the myopia rate is as high as 24%. The longer the time spent outdoors each day, the better the prevention effect of myopia.
05
10 minutes between classes
Very important
Only those who leave the classroom to rest and play are called recess. When you relax between classes, you can better attend the next class. Recess is for play, not for homework.
Compared with the children who did not leave the classroom during recess, the children who left the classroom for all recess (10 minutes) each day and added 80 minutes of outdoor activity time a day significantly reduced the myopia rate and myopia progression. Leaving the classroom between classes, going to the playground, or going to the corridor to contact the sunlight and look into the distance is very beneficial for the prevention and control of myopia.
Every day, physical education classes are outdoors, large recesses are outdoors, each recess is 10 minutes outdoors, on the way to and from school, if you walk or ride a bicycle to pick up and drop off, 2 hours of outdoor activities a day can be properly realized.
06
After playing
Ability to read and write for long periods of time
Or playing on your phone?
Just like body weight management, we should not only go out and exercise more, but also control our diet and not eat and drink.
For children who are not yet myopia, adequate outdoor activities can be very effective in preventing myopia. However, if you are overloaded with reading and writing, you are still at risk of myopia.
For children who are already nearsighted, although the effect is somewhat weakened, enough outdoor activity time also means that indoor close-up eye use is reduced, so it is still worth advocating.
07
Scientific writing and reading
Choose paper books
Correct reading posture
Improve the lighting environment
Pay attention to the combination of work and rest
Try to stay away from or limit the amount of time you spend away from electronic devices. For mobile phone PAD, etc., primary and secondary school students should not contact more than 1 hour a day, and no more than 15-20 minutes each time.
After every 20 minutes of reading and writing, pause, get up and walk and look 20 feet (6 meters) away for at least 20 seconds. It is necessary to reduce the time for reading and writing in the evening, go to bed as early as possible, and primary school students should try to go to bed before 8:30 to 9 o'clock in the evening.
08
Ahead of time?
Or do your homework first?
During the day, it is better to have enough fun first, just like laying a solid and healthy body first, and then you can do things. Play well, and then in a limited time, cleanly complete the so-called homework.
If you do your homework first, you often grind foreign workers, and grind the homework that should have been half an hour and 1 hour into 2 hours or even 3 hours, and there will be no time to go out to play, even if you go out it may be the sun going down and it is dark, and going out to play has no effect of protecting your eyesight and preventing myopia.
Children are like flowers and plants, and they grow well outdoors. Let's let the kids go out and play first.
Staying at home, staying in the classroom, there is no distance and no sunlight.
Outdoor activities, going out to play, safe, convenient, no cost, anytime, anywhere, not only protect eyesight, but also exercise. Accompanied by parents and friends, it promotes family friendship and physical and mental health.
Have enough fun first, and then finish your homework cleanly. Bright eyes and healthy eyes, academic growth, fish and bear's paws, you can have both.
