Not long ago, an incident occurred that made everyone feel extremely indignant: The Philippines dispatched a Senas 208 small plane to airdrop supplies to the Philippine World War II amphibious ship "Sierra Madre," which was illegally "beaching" Ren'ai Jiao! You must know that Ren'ai Jiao and its nearby waters are an indisputable and inseparable part of the mainland, and this move by the Philippine side is undoubtedly a solemn provocation. However, as more details are revealed from the Philippine side, we can learn some unknown reasons.
We know that the Philippines used transport ships to resupply Ren'ai Jiao in the past, so why did the Philippines switch to airplanes instead of ships this time? It turns out that the reason why the Philippines did this was not on purpose, but "had to do it." According to the Philippine side, the reason why the Philippines does not use ships for replenishment, but uses airplanes, is because the ships that the Philippines used to supply Ren'ai Jiao before were broken down and needed to be repaired, so the Philippine side did not find suitable ships for a while, so it had to use planes for supply transportation.
Since the Philippine amphibious ship "Sierra Madre" is "beached" on the reef of Ren'ai Jiao, and the sea water in the reef is very shallow, ordinary ships are at risk of running aground once they enter the reef. Therefore, in order to enter Ren'ai Jiao for replenishment, the Philippine side has been renting two civilian transport ships "Yunaza May" No. 1 and No. 2 (I believe that friends who pay attention to Ren'ai Jiao have seen the names of these two ships) to resupply the "Sierra Madre" on Ren'ai Jiao.
As a result, in order to brazenly provoke Ren'ai Jiao, the Philippine side deliberately caused the "Yunaza May" No. 2 ship to crash into China's normal coast guard ship during the forced intrusion into Ren'ai Jiao in October last year.
Seeing that this ship could not be used, the Philippine side found the "Kalayaan," which was originally a maritime search and rescue ship, but the Philippine side did not learn a lesson, but forcibly used this ship to transport construction materials. However, the boat was damaged by the current, so it has only been repaired to this day.
And what about the Yunaza May-1 for a similar reason, which also collided with our ship in December. It is said that the Philippine side was originally going to dispatch the "Yunaza May" No. 1, but it broke down when it was about to set off, and the failure was probably related to the impact in December.
And with all three ships in a state of repair, the Philippine side is really helpless. Because if the supply is not carried out regularly, then the Filipino personnel on the Philippine ship "beached" at Ren'ai Jiao will face a lack of food. As a result, the Philippine side could only resupply the "Sierra Madre" that was "beached" by air transportation.
We can also see from this that there is a huge gap between the comprehensive national strength of the Philippines and the mainland. You know, a small vessel like the Yunaza May-1 needs as much as we need as long as our shipyard is running at full capacity. As a result, after the three ships on the Philippine side needed to be repaired, they could not be dispatched for a while, which shows that the Philippine side not only has a small number of ships, but also is obviously unable to carry out the daily maintenance and repair of the ships.
