The world's first dual-battery, dual-motor electric bicycle is equipped with ChatGPT, and the price is over 30,000 yuan
IT Home reported on January 10 that Urtopia has always been known for launching high-tech electric bicycles, and this year it has reached a higher level. At CES 2024, Urtopia officially unveiled its flagship model, the Fusion, which integrates ChatGPT, the hottest AI chat assistant at the moment, to lead the new trend of smart mobility.
Urtopia calls the Fusion "the world's first dual-battery, dual-motor e-bike" designed by designer Hartmut Esslinger. Built from carbon fiber, it's light and sturdy, and it's powered by either a Shimano CUES transmission (standard) or an Enviolo continuously variable transmission (CVT Premium). The dual 540Wh battery has a range of 120 km, and up to 200 km with the addition of a 360Wh extended battery.
The 95Nm mid-mounted motor delivers power for a top speed of 25 km/h, and with a 100mm of travel air-dampened fork, it's perfect for city roads, mountain trails, and off-road conditions, while the wide tires and stable frame further enhance the riding experience.
Of course, the core highlight of the Fusion is its technology configuration. The car supports 4G network and GPS tracking, so you can always know the location of the vehicle, even if it is stolen. It is also equipped with features such as anti-theft alarm, fingerprint unlocking, route tracking, phone-free navigation, built-in speaker, Bluetooth music playback, and more, which are Urtopia's traditional strengths.
But the real highlight of Fusion is what Urtopia calls "Jarvis," which allows riders to unlock their bikes, play music, and even activate ChatGPT with a smart ring. ChatGPT can help you "explore new routes, get real-time information, and even have fun conversations," Urtopia says.
Admittedly, it's debatable whether it's practical to talk to a chat assistant at 25 km/h, but at least there's a companion in sparsely populated places. It has to be said that this is also a brilliant marketing ploy for Urtopia to stand out from the crowd of e-bikes.
However, the Fusion's price is also destined to make it an exclusive toy for high-end gamers. The regular version of the Fusion is priced at 3,999 euros (note: currently about 31,352 yuan), and the CVT version is as high as 4,999 euros (currently about 39,192 yuan), and the official launch time has not yet been announced.
