In 2022, Oris partnered with the Marylebone Cricket Club to become the first official timekeeper in the club's history. To celebrate this three-year partnership, the two companies are launching the Big Crown Analogue Date Father Time Limited Edition (Ref. 754 7741 3161-Set).
The so-called "Father Time", or "Father Time", is the iconic weather vane at the top of the clock tower overlooking the Rhodes Cricket Stadium. It is a cast-iron statue, nearly one and a half meters tall, standing hunched over a cricket stump, and is said to be a mythical figure who watches over the passage of time. The Father Time is presented in a 40 mm bronze case and is presented on a bronze bracelet and is limited to 1,926 pieces, commemorating the year the weathervane was presented to the Rhodes Cricket Stadium.
The case is 40 mm in diameter and is made of a special bronze alloy that rusts over time, but does not turn green. To avoid allergic reactions, the caseback that comes into contact with the wrist is made of stainless steel and engraved with the Father Time motif and a limited edition message. Featuring an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the iconic coin-patterned bezel and an oversized screw-down crown, this timepiece is water-resistant to 50 meters.
The white dial with cathedral-style gold hands and oversized black Roman numerals evokes an antique pilot's watch. The central hand with a red crescent moon combined with the outer rim scale indicates the date information, a layout designed by A. Hammerly was patented in 1915. The hour and minute hands, Arabic numerals, and light green markings on the minute track are coated with Super-LumiNova to ensure readability in low-light conditions.
Powered by the Oris 754 automatic calibre, modified from the Sellita SW200-1, this timepiece beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and is fitted with a red bidirectional winding rotor with a power reserve of 38 hours, making it robust, reliable and easy to service.
The Oris Big Crown Analogue Date Father Time comes with an articulated bronze bracelet with a folding clasp, or a light brown buckle strap made by Cervo Volante with a bronze pin buckle and a replacement bracelet in the box.
