The project was approved in 2021, with a total investment of about 1.8 billion yuan, a total area of about 8,250 acres, and a total installed capacity of 300 megawatts. On June 28, 2023, the first grid-connected power generation was realized, with a grid-connected capacity of 218 MW, and the full capacity was connected to the grid in November 2023.

"The project is expected to generate an average of 595 million kilowatt hours per year, save 180,000 tons of standard coal and reduce solid dust emissions by 120,000 tons per year, save conventional energy, and improve the local energy structure. The "animal husbandry and photovoltaic complementation" mode of "power generation on photovoltaic panels and sheep grazing under photovoltaic panels" is a major feature of the "Colorful River" photovoltaic power station. In order to allow the sheep to move freely under the photovoltaic panels, the power station has erected a prefabricated PHC (prestressed high-strength concrete) pipe pile and a fixed steel support system with high strength, bending resistance and crack resistance.

"The lowest point of the photovoltaic module is 2.5 meters from the ground, the distance between the front and rear rows is 10.8 meters, and the recyclable zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy material is used in a wide range to reduce pollution, safety and power generation efficiency. The wind turbines in this area belong to the 300 MW wind farm project of China Resources Enclosure Yuanbaoshan. The electricity generated by the wind farm is finally connected to the Yudaokou 500 thousand volt substation and sent to Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei through the Hebei power grid.

In December 2022, Yuanbaoshan Wind Farm introduced two new energy condensers with stable voltage, which greatly improved the utilization efficiency of new energy installations.

"Problems such as excessive voltage fluctuations in the power grid, low short-circuit ratio of new energy stations, and insufficient moment of inertia support caused by the integration of new energy have always limited the transmission capacity of the power grid to new energy. The new energy condenser is the 'stabilizer' of the new energy weak transmission system, which has the advantages of good voltage support performance, strong overload capacity and high reliability. Wu Di, the builder of the new energy condenser and the electrical engineer of China Resources Power Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei New Energy Company, explained.

This is the first condenser expansion project of the existing new energy station in China, and it is also a new application of traditional condenser technology in the field of new energy. This is where the new energy condenser technology begins to be promoted in the paddock.

Since then, the total load factor of the three wind farms connected to the Yuanbaoshan Wind Farm, Shenxiandong Wind Farm and Xiangfeng Wind Farm, has increased from the lowest 40% to 70%, and the average annual power generation capacity can be increased by 80 million kWh.

The paddock energy storage equipment manufacturing industrial park is an important platform for the development of the energy storage industry in the paddock.

The park covers an area of 76,552 square meters, with a construction area of 31,527 square meters, including the all-vanadium flow battery production and manufacturing project, and has gathered three energy storage equipment manufacturing projects with a total investment of nearly 1 billion yuan.

Among them, the Guodian Sinnoh intelligent energy storage integrated factory project was completed in June 2022 and put into operation that year, with an output value of 159 million yuan in 2023.

With a total investment of 500 million yuan and an area of more than 130 acres, the energy storage equipment manufacturing project of Haibo Sichuang started construction in October last year. The project plans to build three energy storage equipment manufacturing production lines with an annual capacity of 2 GWh in two shifts in phases, and is expected to be put into operation this year.

It is understood that Beijing Hipostron Technology Co., Ltd. is a provider of energy storage system solutions and technical services, ranking first in the list of energy storage system shipments in the domestic market in 2021 and 2022 among China's energy storage system integrators, and has participated in the supply of the first batch of demonstration energy storage projects in Shandong Province and the largest single energy storage power station in operation in Hebei Province, and has accumulated a large number of experience in energy storage equipment supply, commissioning and grid connection.

"With the help of technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, intelligent control and intelligent sensing, we will fully automate the key production processes of energy storage equipment and help the transformation of the paddock energy storage equipment industry to intelligent manufacturing. The electrochemical energy storage industry, represented by the manufacturing of vanadium lithium battery products, is only one direction for the development of the energy storage industry system in the paddock. In addition, pumped storage and hydrogen energy storage projects are also advancing simultaneously.

The Weichang Miaogong Pumped Storage Power Station Project, with a planned total installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts, has completed the preparation of the first version of the pre-feasibility study report, and has been successfully included in the list of pumped storage project reserves in Hebei Province.

Pumped storage power stations can regulate peak and valley, frequency and phase regulation, and their operation is flexible, and the start and stop are fast, which can improve the power system's ability to accept renewable energy resources and resource utilization. After the project is put into operation, it is expected to save about 400,000 tons of standard coal per year, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1 million tons per year.

The two hydrogen energy storage projects in the paddock, Shanghai Hangrong Centralized Hydrogen Production and Daxigou Wind Power Hydrogen Production Project, will also make breakthroughs this year.

The Shanghai Hangrong centralized hydrogen production project is expected to be completed and put into operation in June 2024. The project is a hydrogen production station with a production scale of about 5,000 standard cubic meters per hour, equipped with two sets of hydrogen production equipment of 900 standard cubic meters per hour and two sets of hydrogen production equipment of 1,500 standard cubic meters per hour.

The Daxigou Wind Power Hydrogen Production Project will build a total of 10 MW water electrolysis hydrogen production system, and the project is expected to be put into operation within this year.

"After the two projects are put into operation, the local capacity of the paddock for clean electricity consumption will be greatly improved. The hydrogen production capacity of the paddock is expected to reach 7,000 standard cubic meters per hour, with an annual output of 5,400 tons of green hydrogen and an annual consumption of 270 million kWh of green electricity, laying the foundation for the paddock to build a leading green hydrogen production base in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. The analysis of the scheme predicts that the cost of heating in the form of "air energy + municipal electricity" is about 25 yuan per square meter, while the cost of heating in the form of "air energy + green electricity" is about 20 yuan per square meter.

The company's clean heating pilot in the paddock is the result of the paddock's active cooperation with new energy companies to explore a new model of clean heating in the countryside in recent years.

The paddock has a large area and a large rural population, and there are still 1 million kilowatts of distributed wind and photovoltaic resources and 200,000 kilowatts of distributed photovoltaic resources on the roof. At present, the paddock mainly relies on two transmission and substation stations for clean power transmission, with a total transmission capacity of 2.62 million kilowatts. Although many new energy projects in the paddock have a high starting point, the overall endogenous power of scientific and technological innovation in the county is insufficient, which still restricts the high-quality development of the local clean energy industry.
