Illegal immigrants go door-to-door begging
Houston police went to Carter's 5251 Perry Street home on April 7 last year after receiving a kidnapping report and heard noises coming from his garage and found the victim woman in her 30s in the garage, who was found severely malnourished and said she had not showered for more than two months.
The victim said that when she was pregnant and begging on the street about 4 or 5 years ago, she met Carter, a rapper, who found her on the side of the road, gave her $1 and left, and later drove back and said that she would help her more if she got in the car, but she was locked in a garage for a long time and forced to have sex multiple times.
The victim also alleged that she was forced to take drugs by Carter many times, causing her to be physically controlled and unable to leave, and later finally found an opportunity to use Carter's laptop and secretly report the crime to the police through an app.
The police issued a warrant for Carter in April last year, and it was not until the 5th of this month that he was finally arrested in a motel.
Local media pointed out that Carter, a rapper with the stage name Viper, regularly uploads his music to YouTube, some of which have received millions of views, and is currently being held in Harris County Jail on $100,000 bail after being charged with aggravated kidnapping.
