Before I retired, I served as a class teacher, grade director, reserve cadre, vice principal and other positions, until I retired, I was not promoted to principal, all because I didn't understand the world when I just worked, and I couldn't appreciate the intention of leadership language, so it was all hard and slow to start!
For me personally, from the perspective of teaching, the most regrettable thing is that I have not been promoted to the deputy senior title, followed by not being promoted to the principal, I don't really want to be the principal, but I always feel a little lacking in my career, especially looking at most of the people who were promoted to the vice principal at the same time as me, I still have a certain sense of loss!
In fact, since I was young, I have devoted myself to teaching work, and I have been recognized by leaders and colleagues, but I am a person with mediocre ideas and no pursuit, I just want to do a good job in the work arranged by the school, and I never thought that one day I could become the leader of the school!
When I was more than 90 years, I had the opportunity to be a middle-level cadre in the school, but I didn't understand the intention of the leader, resulting in the loss of a lot of opportunities, so I started relatively late.
I remember the first time the principal asked me to talk to his office, probably meaning that he wanted me to be the head of the physics department, and his original words were like this: "The school is now planning to find a physics teaching and research group, and you are very suitable, but you are a bit busy with your work, what do you think?"
Two days later, there were other candidates for the head of the department, and I heard the grapevine that the principal was not satisfied with me. I thought at the time, didn't he say that he was too busy with work, why was he still not satisfied?
If I had taken over the work of head of teaching and research at that time, I might have been promoted to vice president earlier, and wouldn't it have been better to be promoted to president a few years earlier? Even if I missed the opportunity, now I can understand the purpose of the president's conversation with me, he is testing and beating!
One day two years later, the principal asked me to go to his office to talk, this time he still wanted to promote me to the middle director of the school, and his original words were like this: "The school should adjust the middle-level cadres to see that you are more suitable for the work of the brigade counselor, but this job is more difficult to manage, so I think it is more suitable for you to be the director of the information office, and I want to recommend you as the director of the information office in the next step." This time, I did not refuse, but readily agreed, and at the same time expressed my gratitude to the leader for his respect. After about a month after this incident, the school really adjusted the middle level, and the director of the information office was served by another teacher, but I didn't do anything, and I still served as my grade director!
I really couldn't figure it out, he had already recommended me in a clear way, but why did he arrange someone else? Later, I figured out that the problem lies in this, that I was too naïve and romantic! If I had become a middle-level student in the school that time, I might have a greater chance of being promoted, and it would have been much more helpful for my later development, and it was probably because the deputy senior title and the vice principal would have been able to have a bumper harvest!
I failed to grasp the two opportunities, so I have been working in obscurity, until the male principal was transferred, a female principal came, she did things decisively, resolutely, treated the interests of the staff equally, never favored anyone, I was gradually elected as a reserve cadre, and then I had the opportunity to promote the vice principal!
Looking back now, in fact, those two times I could have grasped the opportunity to go further, but I was missed by my own innocence and ignorance!
Later, I listened to the discussion of my colleagues in the unit, and it turned out that the principal was testing in this way every time, not only for myself. Including the annual distribution of honor places in the school, he is allocated in the same way, but this is not without principle, he allocates honors or promotes middle-level candidates are selected within a reasonable range, and do not cross a reasonable range, so the faculty and staff have no opinions.
It can be seen that this leader still has a bottom-line principle, and will not unscrupulously use means and methods for his own interests.
Anyone at the beginning of the job must establish goals and pursuits as soon as possible, do not push forward to do the work, if there is no goal to push forward, the opportunity may also be inclined to the hard-working person, but do not take the initiative to grasp and seize the opportunity in the process, your starting point must be very late, the follow-up development momentum must be weak, age in the workplace is capital, age means lost opportunities!
Although I am retired at home now, I occasionally remember some things that I used to work in the school, and I regret that I have gained more regrets, regret that I have not been promoted to the deputy senior title, and I regret that I have not gone further in my career!
The only consolation is that my children are more worry-free, and I can enjoy my retirement in my old age.
