North China, Huanghuai fog and haze disturb Shandong, Anhui and other places, local visibility will be less than 200 meters
Yesterday morning, light to moderate haze occurred in the Hetao area of Inner Mongolia, northern Ningxia, Guanzhong in Shaanxi, Henan, central and southern Shandong, northern Anhui, central and northern Jiangsu, central Hubei, and the Sichuan Basin, with localized severe haze; and heavy fog with visibility of less than 1 km appeared in some areas of Shanghai, northern Zhejiang, and western Sichuan Basin. Among the provincial capital-level cities, at 8 o'clock yesterday morning, haze was observed in Shijiazhuang, Jinan, Zhengzhou, Nanjing, and Hangzhou.
It is expected that in the last few days of 2023, the cold air affecting the mainland will be weak. From December 28 to 30, the atmospheric diffusion conditions in the central and southern parts of North China, the central and western Huanghuai Mountains, and the Fenwei Plain were poor, with light to moderate haze, among which Tianjin, central and southern Hebei, western Shandong, and northern Henan had severe haze.
In terms of fog impact, from the morning to the morning of the 28th, there was heavy fog in parts of southeastern Hebei, central and western Shandong, southeastern Henan, central and northern Anhui, Jiangsu, western Shanghai, northern Zhejiang, western Chongqing and other places, among them, some areas in central and northern Shandong, central Anhui, central and eastern Jiangsu and other places had strong dense fog with visibility below 200 meters, and there was extremely strong dense fog with visibility below 50 meters locally. It is expected that due to the influence of cold air, from the afternoon of December 30 to January 1, 2024, there will be strong winds and cooling weather in the central and eastern parts of the mainland, and the fog and haze in the above areas will dissipate. Due to the long impact of fog or haze weather in Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and other places, and coincides with the peak travel period before the New Year's Day holiday, the local public should pay attention to traffic safety.
There will be more snowfall in northern Xinjiang and light to moderate rain in the eastern part of southwest China
In terms of precipitation, yesterday's heavy snowfall was mainly concentrated in northern Xinjiang and other places, such as the Ili River Valley in Xinjiang and the western part of northern Xinjiang, with light to moderate snow and locally heavy snowfall.
According to the forecast, from today to the 30th, precipitation will also increase briefly in the central and eastern parts of the continent. Specifically, today, there is light snow or sleet in parts of eastern Inner Mongolia, northern Heilongjiang, northern Xinjiang and southern Xinjiang basins, eastern Tibet, western Sichuan, southern Qinghai, southern Shanxi, central Shaanxi, northwest Henan and other places, among which, there is moderate to heavy snow in parts of northern and eastern Xinjiang. There is light to moderate rain in parts of eastern Sichuan, Chongqing, southern Shaanxi, central and western Henan, northwest and southwest Hubei, northwest Hunan, northern Guizhou, western Yunnan, Hainan Island, Taiwan Island and other places, among which, there is heavy rain locally in the central part of Taiwan Island.
Tomorrow, there will be light snow or sleet in parts of central and eastern Inner Mongolia, northeast Heilongjiang, central, eastern and southern Liaoning, northern Xinjiang, southern Sichuan, and northwest Yunnan, among them, there will be moderate to heavy snow in parts of eastern and southern Liaoning, northern Xinjiang and the Ili River Valley.
