On December 23, Fushan District held the "Yingxue Cup" 3rd Mantis Boxing Intangible Cultural Heritage Exchange Seminar and Fushan District Mantis Boxing Research Association Meeting, Fushan District Culture and Tourism Bureau Party Group Member, District Tourism Service Center Director Lv Xiaodan, Yantai Wushu Association, martial arts circles, cultural experts, Fushan District Mantis Boxing Research Association member representatives and a total of more than 60 people participated in the event.
At the general meeting, the Fushan District Mantis Boxing Research Association elected a new leadership team of the Fushan District Mantis Boxing Research Association in accordance with the relevant "Measures".
Lv Xiaodan delivered a speech on behalf of the Fushan District Culture and Tourism Bureau, affirming the work of the District Mantis Boxing Research Association in 2023 and putting forward hopes. He said that "intangible cultural heritage" is an important part of the mainland's excellent traditional culture, and he hopes that everyone will work together to integrate the intangible cultural heritage of mantis boxing into society and promote the prosperity and development of Fushan martial arts culture.
Yu Yongsheng, chairman of Yantai Wushu Association, Wang Yufang, chairman of Yantai Huiying Trading Co., Ltd., relevant experts, representatives of mantis boxing in various counties and cities, conducted in-depth discussions on the inheritance and development of mantis boxing as an intangible cultural heritage, and put forward many constructive opinions and suggestions.
Subsequently, the participants watched the exchange performance of old, middle, young and young mantis boxing enthusiasts. Nine groups and individuals from all counties and cities in the city performed the Seven Star Mantis Boxing, Liuhe Mantis Boxing, Haojia Meihua Taiji Mantis Boxing, Liuhe Stick, Praying Mantis Knife and boxing sparring with five palms, patting, etc., the performers moved quickly, the pace was light and steady, rigid and soft, and a series of wonderful performances attracted bursts of applause.
It is understood that in December 2016, "Plum Blossom Mantis Boxing" was included in the list of district-level intangible cultural heritage by the People's Government of Fushan District. As a heritage and protection institution for the inheritance and promotion of Plum Blossom Mantis Boxing and Nantushan Liuhe Stick in Fushan District, the Fushan District Mantis Boxing Research Association has cultivated a large number of inheritors through "online + offline" public welfare training in recent years. They also vigorously publicized and promoted the culture of mantis boxing by participating in activities such as the "Five Advances" of intangible cultural heritage, cultural and sports performances, etc.
