Commanders, are you ready for World of Tanks 1.23.1?
First, the Onslaught will kick off the Crimson Pegasus Season. Commanders actively participate in the battle for a chance to win annual rewards, including rare 2D styles, crew members, and a special version of the CS-63, the Hurricane. In addition, the Onslaught Shop will be available, where you can use War Bonds to purchase the rare SP114SP2 and other items.
Onslaught also brings 3 new maps: Oyster Bay, Sdudianch, and Outpost. They will be played slightly differently from the standard mode, offering more tactical options. The modifier has also been updated, reducing the lighting time to 3 seconds, reducing the forced lighting range, and increasing the accuracy of all tanks. These modifiers will give you an even more intense combat experience in Onslaught.
Frontline Mode has also received some innovations, with the addition of a dynamic battle scenario system. There are now three Combat Reserve scenarios, each of which will be chosen at random: Standard Battle, Combat Support, and Turning the Tide. The rules of standard battles are the same as those of regular Frontline mode. The cooldown of the Combat Support Reserve will be reduced. In the TurnAround scenario, the Commander can choose one of two random Reserves after reaching the first rank.
In Update 1.23.1, some low-tier tanks have been rebalanced to make the battle easier and more enjoyable for newcomers, while also bringing new challenges and fun to veteran players.
The most eye-catching is the R&D branch of the new R-series heavy tank. These tanks are very different from the Type 5 Heavy Combat R&D branch, with a streamlined design, angled armor, and both. From the Experimental Three-Turret Tank Triple 108 to the Experimental Heavy Tank, each tank is unique in its own way. Among them, the Type 57 is equipped with an experimental dual aiming system, which makes it have higher shooting accuracy and flexibility on the battlefield.
Type 68, which pioneered a "new genre" in R-series tank design. Not only does it have a dual sighting system, but it is also equipped with a liquid-gas suspension that gives it great agility in steep terrain.
Last but not least, the experimental heavy tank, the jewel of this branch of development, combines frontal armor and mobility, with a 120 mm gun with a high rate of fire and accuracy. However, it also has some limitations, with a mediocre reverse speed and a slight lack of side armor, but it is an excellent tank overall.
