In Shandong's local planning, the Jizao high-speed railway does not stop at Lunan.

According to the "Shandong Provincial Comprehensive Three-dimensional Transportation Network Planning Outline (2023-2035)", there is also a trunk line from Zaozhuang to Xinyi, Xuzhou in the Shandong tourism high-speed rail corridor. This passage uses the Zaozhuang section of the Jizao high-speed railway, extending south from Taierzhuang to Xuzhou, connecting the Xulan high-speed railway (Xuzhou-Lanzhou) and Xulian high-speed railway (Xuzhou-Lianyungang) and other east-west lines.

"After the Jizao high-speed railway is extended to Xuzhou in the future, it can open up a new situation of communication with the Huaihai region. Zhang Ruhua said that the Jizao high-speed railway serves the regional economy along the line, and after the line is extended, it can also serve northern Jiangsu and even the entire Huaihai region.

From the planning point of view, the Jizao high-speed railway in Xuzhou through the Beijing-Shanghai channel or east through Lianyungang through the coastal channel, or can become a new artery connecting Jinan and even the southeast of the Yangtze River Delta.
